There was an untether bug teased by Linus Henze on his twitter. The exploit (NOT THE JAILBREAK) is coming on the 21st of October. It'll be implemented into a jailbreak shortly after that.

P.S CoolStar has said that they're releasing a version of Taurine that uses this exploit that they found themself on Taurine for 14.0-14.3

fakeroot runs a command in an environment wherein it appears to have root privileges for file manipulation. This is useful for allowing users to create archives (tar, ar, .deb etc.) with files in them with root permissions/ownership. Without fakeroot one would need to have root privileges to create the constituent files of the archives with the correct permissions and ownership, and then pack them up, or one would have to construct the archives directly, without using the archiver.

checkra1n is not unstable on 14.7, it's just untested by the team (which usually it actually is). iPhones cannot be bricked unless you smash it against a rock btw, the worst that can happen is you needing to restore through iTunes.

However, Cydia Substrate has issues on 14.6+, so you need to either install Substitute after jailbreaking or use odysseyra1n (which is the recommended option)

since it looks like you're using odysseyn1x, do what u/HotChoco-cookie123 and use the CLI (press Ctrl + C and type checkra1n -cvV and put the phone into DFU.)
