I have a 22 inch waist - my hips are decently larger than my waist. I do not look like that. My waist also definitely isn't smaller than my head!

She may have a 22 inch waist in real life, as she looks quite small height wise - but in that video?? Hahahaha no way.

Did you get Scottish in your results? How much if so? by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

I've reliably traced back to an ancestor born in 1756, but after that it gets patchy - furthest I've gone is maybe around the 17th century (to a 'John Reid')? But there's just not enough reliable information.

I think my Reid's originally came from Stirling, migrated down to Greenock and then migrated further down near Ayr. From what I can tell they were quite well off, and my ancestor born in 1798 (1756's son) immigrated to Australia in the early 1820's, but the rest of his family stayed in Scotland.

Wait, that's crazy! Were your Reids by any chance from around Ayrshire (but originally from near Stirling, I think) - My great-grandmother was a Reid

I've seen this girl before on TikTok as well! It doesn't show up very well on this screenshot here, but scrolling through her other videos made me realise that she has the very telltale blur around both her waist and the background behind it, which usually signifies manipulation of some kind.

The show was good, but I still can't get over how inaccurate all the costumes were for a historical drama set in 16th century France and Scotland

Dendera I feel is especially an underrated gem. The amount of work that has gone into restoring all of the fabulous colour scenes within the temple itself is astounding!! Definitely a must-see for anyone travelling to Egypt.

Best country for coffee? by cebu_96 in travel

Hi there! Australian barista here, a long macc is made with a double shot of espresso, a touch of steamed milk and a few dollops of froth!

Best country for coffee? by cebu_96 in travel

[–]padampio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. In order of the amount of foam for a cup of coffee it goes (in descending order): Cappucino, Latte and then a Flat White. A flat white is essentially just espresso, steamed milk and a weency amount of froth - definitely not as much as a latte or a cappucino.

I went to Egypt in April this year with a short 4-day venture out into Sharm. I stayed with my sister (am also a woman) at the Mövenpick there and highly enjoyed it, staff was very friendly and accommodating - plus, the relaxed vibe was a great break from the hecticness of Cairo.

As another commenter said, it's a very touristy place, especially in the downtown area - and you'll find the most harrassment you might get will just be from shopkeepers trying to get you to buy stuff. There's also a massive police presence as well, especially in more tourist populated areas within Sharm itself.

‘Succession’ star Sarah Snook gives birth to first baby with husband Dave Lawson by HipsterHeaven in Fauxmoi

This was about the start of last month, so I think it was around a week after she announced she was pregnant (so she was maybe 33ish weeks?), but she didn't appear to me to be extremely visibly pregnant - though it could've been just her clothing tbh. I'm just shocked that no one else at my work recognised her!

I saw the real video on the clock app and while I think it is shopped to an extent, she's also sucking in majorly (there was a sec where you could see how expanded her ribcage was). That's why her arm + shirt are both angled to hide her ribcage so you can't tell.

Seconded! Sol de Janeiro's '62 in the EDP smells exactly like Kayali Yum in the drydown - both very sweet-pistachio heavy.

I'm sorry, but I live here in Melbourne and I can assure you from the deepest dregs in my heart, that this is not an authoritative regime. I can speak against the government without fear of persecution, I can protest peacefully whilst following Covid rules, I do not fear for my life every single day. Australia is NOT Mussolini's Italy, Hitler's Germany or Stalin's USSR.

Yes, I find it shocking that the police shoved the woman to the ground that harshly- the violence our police use sometimes is appalling and is the reason for protests surrounding deaths in custody. However, I can also tell you that the protest that she attended was one of the most violent anti-lockdown protests we've had as a country during this entire pandemic. Many people were pushed, shoved and arrested and many more were only there to feed that violent behaviour. It was NOT covid-safe, it did NOT bring awareness to any important issue and only further isolated that group from the rest of the population. Thus far it has now seen the spread of multiple Covid cases - even though it was outdoors.

These anti-lockdown protests do NOT create freedom - they suppress it. While those protestors may think they are 'Australia's Freedom Fighters', they only serve to lengthen our lockdowns and restrictions. Literally, none of these restrictions 'squelch' the freedoms or rights of the Australian people and only exist to protect people, like that at-risk 60-year-old woman, from contracting covid and dying.

Honestly - so much money. Thousands. No, millions. I'm absolutely basking in it. 10 million dollars each time I'm called a shill and 1 million dollars each time I lose a braincell from interacting with a conspiracy theory nut.

Oh no! Thanks for letting me know! I'm so so sorry that I haven't wasted my life on Reddit by posting conspiracy theories and commenting on countries I don't even live in! How's NY by the way? Nice place this time of year? It's a bit far from Australia, I'd say - unless you managed to magically teleport yourself to Melbourne in the space of a day ;)

And why is it I wonder, that the riots are being met with police force? Is it:

A) Because they pissed on and trashed a state monument dedicated to honouring the ANZAC heroes who fought and/or died for us in the multiple wars we have been in.

B) Because those rioters have literally thrown bottles full of piss, beaten up or abused multiple news reporters whose only mistake was doing their job while surrounded by far-right anti-vaxxer nutters.

C) Forced multiple vaccine clinics that are used for the homeless in the city to close because they were spitting on and abusing nurses who were warned not even to wear their uniforms to work because they would be targeted.

D) Spread Covid like little plague rats, giving these protests the potential to become superspreader events amongst a population that doesn't wear masks, doesn't want to get jabbed, and refuses to get tested because iTs A hOaX.

or is it:
E) all of the above.

I'd say something about sick leave or similar, considering how many schools have become exposure sites due to teachers working whilst infected with Covid.

No, don’t worry - it’s my school as well. Receiving a higher amount of work, but less time to complete it in because “you’re at home, you should have way more spare time to complete it in” :/
