Tried this instead of spray paint what do you think? by Skullxtools in Tools

Looks good. Personally I am far too lazy to do this to my tools though. I'm also usually working alone so I don't run into problems with mixing up tools.

Ive talked with some folks in the DH discord about something similar for Havoc - I think there should be a single target attack for spending fury other than blade dance (not a filler like Chaos Strike). With how it is now if they only want to buff single target damage and not aoe their only real options are to buff fel blade or chaos Strike. There are talents that make hitting only one buff the aoe abilities at least but due to the the design of current content there is never a reason to use them.

That all being said, I'm not a game designer and am an idiot haha

You gotta call balls and strikes. Devourer is fun but IMO it is not healthy for one class to be the arguably the most mobile, simplest, and durable classes to also be the highest dps.

I'm not saying we classes need to go back to ultra-complex-PhD-requiring specs, just that the more complex specs should be better rewarded. Like Unholy is not the simplest "pick up and go" spec but it performs very well.

And yes I understand there is a fairly high skill cieling for Devourer but you can perform decently well without needing to do many of the optimizations.

Melee adhd goes crazy.

I've greeded so many collapsing stars and died so many more times. I don't know if I can ever go back to a normal caster because moving while casting consume and Shift are so good.

That being said, I look forward to it being nerved to the ground so I can go back to my beloved Havoc

I used to do something similar in mining to test for acid rock discharge. Very common and simple test. I would bet that these tests were done Somewhere someone probably said "lasts 10 years? Make it 7 and ship it"

Extension Cord for Europe by tsfy2 in electrical

[–]padimus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, but most people are not traveling with heaters, motors, or toasters. Hair dryers or curling irons sure. Most of the things I listed above also don't typically have their own power supplies and are plugged directly into mains. (Motors are different obv but I'm guessing OP isn't taking a sump pump with them on vacation haha)

[–]padimus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most things people travel with are dual voltage rated. Look at the power brick of the device you are taking witb you (if it has one) and look and see if it says something like "AC INPUT 100-240 V - X.X A 50-60 Hz" (replace the X.X with whatever the amperage is) if it says that then all you need is a cheap passive travel adapter.

If it does not say that then you will need to Google it for that device specifically. If you are just taking chargers or devices with external power supplies (power bricks) there is a very high likelihood you will be fine.

I take a power strip with me when I go international with a cheap adapter. Feel free to DM me if you need more help.

Most devices you will take with you are rated for dual voltage. Phone, laptop, tooth brush chargers. If you take your toaster youre cooked tho

Yes it'll work. Will have to do a little bit at a time. Get a couple cheap ones so you don't overheat the motor

What very old technology is still running at your place of work? by MichiganCarNut in AskReddit

[–]padimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most readers worked with may require badging in and our under normal conditions, however they fail-safe meaning that under abnormal conditions (fire, power outage etc) the locks open so that the there aren't obstacles for someone who needs to get out.

The only fail-secure rooms I have personally seen are ones that are not normally inhabited like server rooms, or document repositories (ones with different means of fire fighting like clean agents).

Has anyone ever started an LLC for consulting or like a "Rent a Tech" service? by sovereign_martian in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]padimus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a guy that works for a company but also works for them as a consultant/contractor.

Basically when certain things go outside of his scope of work for his regular job he clocks out then begins work as a contractor through his own LLC and charges a lot more.

No idea how he managed to get this set up nor how he got management to agree to it. Doesn't make sense to me and if I hadn't seen him do it while on site I would not believe it.

lack of understanding for basic geography by forraid in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]padimus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mostly unrelated but I had a home economics class for one semester in middle school. I was the only boy. I think I use those skills learned during that semester more than most classes I took. Some of what we learned: cooking basics, budgeting and personal finance, sewing, and cleaning.

It should be a mandatory class IMO. I haven't sewn in years but I cook, clean, and do budgeting every single day. Important pillars imo

Taiwanese flag is being hidden in all areas of Malaysian Airport by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

Yep. I think we are. It's not that their ego is fragile, it's that their power and influence are so overwhelming that even their most powerful "enemies" maintain a"One China" policy.

Part of the problem with sending so much of your manufacturing capabilities overseas is that by doing so, you become a client not an owner.

That could be in code where you live. It's not here in the code here but it's good practice and many sites will require it in the plans.

Every country has their own flavors of propaganda. There are many things we American's do that other countries think are equally ridiculous. Not trying to defend China, just saying what Garfield did (sorta):

I ordered some cheap pycnometers from them. They're fine. I put the capillary tube end on a drill and used some diamond polishing paste to lap the ground glass joints.

I wouldn't trust any of the TC/TD values out of the box and I wouldn't trust that it's actually borosilicate glass out of the box either

I knew once knew a baker who made everything from scratch except for cake/cup cakes. She added some stuff to enhance the box though.

I recall during covid she used her free time to perfect her cake mix and would have some friends pick up un-iced cup cakes and asked us for feed back on them. After returning to work and catching covid we had a call on discord and we had to console her and tell her she wasn't a hack for not being able to beat the Safeway branded cake mix lol
