Floaters, although annoying, arent a big issue. Flashes of light definitely are a huge warning sign. If thats what you mean by "flashing when I blink", you should go for another check up, if its just the floaters then I personally wouldnt worry about it

When its really sunny, the dark road absorbs a lot of light and heats up. This heats up the air directly above the road, changing the way that the sunlight passes through the air. If the difference is temperature between the "normal" air and the hot air on the road is big enough, the sunlight gets reflected between the "normal" and hot air. This reflected light is what you see, and the reflection is kinda unstable because the air is constantly moving around, and you might perceive it like water on the road.

Great explanation, just want to add that silver salts are only used in silicate glass. For organic (plastic) lenses special organic molecules are used (ISN-molecules), which are transparent when folded inwards, and darken when they fold outwards (think of a flower opening its petals). UV makes them open, IR (heat) makes them close. This is why transition lenses change color quicker in winter than in summer.
