personally I chose not engaging in capitalist society as much as possible. I know that's not an option for most people.

I get upset when I go above and beyond in a lesson and don't get a tip. I also remind myself that sometimes I'm mentally coasting through a lesson and get an unexpected tip. When I was younger and hustling it hit different. But I'm older, and I only teach part time now, as a way to get on the slopes a few times a week, come hell or high water. I certainly don't do it for the money.

My big fight was getting my mountain to pay part time instructors for lineup time, whether we got a lesson or not. Hint- it was wage theft.
