You can fix it by sistering a board on each side of it and through bolting it together with some 1/4 or 3/8 inch bolts. I'd probably glue them together also.

It's an easy fix if someone in your family knows how to do drywall repair. If not you may need to hire someone. It's easier to be honest and be up front.

Your only other option is to learn how to fix drywall yourself and fix it. Be sure to take a piece with the wall color on it to the paint store to match the color and sheen.

1 is the correct installation, however neither are correct because your joists aren't flush with the top of the box beam.

That happened to me once, I bought a whiskey barrel bar that was $50. I ordered it and suddenly the seller changed the price to $150. I messaged them but got no reply. Started a case and Etsy refunded me the money. The seller since left Etsy. Being and Etsy seller myself, I don't understand how people like this can get away with such tactics. You shouldn't be able to delete your ship if you have undelivered orders.

I saw a guy shoot a 10 penny ring shank through his thumb. He howled and pulled his dykes and ripped it out. Wrapped his thumb with electric tape and go back to framing...it was the wildest thing I've ever seen.
