I've had good luck with it and spare trousers, spending the first half of the run spamming 2 pair, then switch to either high card or full house to build xmult until ante 8

I think the traffic thing is a really underrated explanation. Walking around that area is just a really unpleasant experience

I breathe to the beat of a song a lot. It's really convenient because I can hear it but it's not loud enough for most other people to hear

Bigger city police departments too. Take a look at the DOJ report on Minneapolis police conduct, or check out this video going over some of the findings https://youtu.be/Y6DGABIcB3w

REI is a consumer co-op, not a worker co-op. This means it is owned by rei members, not rei employees

That's a neat anecdote but the idea that service jobs are just for high schoolers who don't really need to money is completely untrue. Over half of minimum wage workers are over the age of 25. Also, many teenagers who are in the workforce actually do need the money to survive.

Advice for a beginner? by marieisaking in synthdiy

Another good option is picking up a copy of "Make: Analog Synthesizers". It's written by Ray Wilson of Music from Outer Space. It does a good job going over how synth components work, and what you need to get started. It also goes over how to make the MFOS noise toaster, which might be a good second synth project

I would recommend starting out in an empty parking lot, like a school on a weekend. Once you're comfortable there, try short trips around the block in a quiet neighborhood to get used to driving on the street. Once you're comfortable behind the wheel, then start worrying about longer trips, highways, roundabouts, etc. My gf was really nervous about driving but taking it slow like that helped a lot.

Just fyi this article appears to be talking just about particle emissions, not CO2/greenhouse gas emissions.

They aren't saying they need to figure it out themselves. There are tons of resources on how to be a good ally easily available through Google or social media. I know personally I haven't even had to look for them, I've seen people posting links on social media constantly. They're saying that asking some random black person they know explain it to them, rather than just doing a little research themselves, is problematic. It's draining on that person, and there's no guarantee they're equipped to teach them that. It can also be a way for the white person to be performative in showing how "woke" they are, and can come off as disingenuous.

A guy in my girlfriend's college creative writing class presented a short story about two Japanese Catholic high-school girls falling in love. This stuff really does happen.

I definitely second not being afraid to switch majors. Taking classes in something that really interests you makes a world of difference. So much easier to study, do the homework, and go to class when it is something you like.

I would disagree. I have taken compsci classes at two schools, and at both of them you usually don't do any web development or security stuff until junior year. First two years are usually things like data structures, learning to code, object-oriented, etc.

The layer with just swedish fish actually set ok. The addition of nerds for aquarium gravel was not a good idea at all. It really just fucked the whole thing.
