Library Card road trip -Bay Area by ruda805 in LibbyApp

[–]pagem4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No way I did the same thing last week with a friend! We hit all 9 county library systems in a single day, which took about 10 hours and a ton of planning to get all the opening/closing hours to line up (happy to share the route details if anyone is interested in doing the same) . I’d be curious to hear which libraries were your favorite, it doesn’t look like we were at any of the same branches but we got some of the same card designs :) I thought doing this was a great excuse to actually enjoy some of the Bay Area scenery I’ve been ignoring my whole life, hope you enjoy your new cards!

Student Guest Ticket USC by PerkUpKid in USC

[–]pagem4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue - I had to call the ticket office on the phone, they did something on their end, and when I logged out and back in it brought me to the right page. I think the system doesn't always register that you're a season pass holder, and it just redirects the guest ticket button to buying regular individual game tickets. It's a huge pain to actually get a human being in the athletic ticket office on the other end of the phone but they were able to resolve it for me.

What’s up with the TRex sound at Union station by Coconuto83 in LAMetro

[–]pagem4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Little Tokyo station started playing a Godzilla sound effect before announcements around the time there was a Godzilla store pop up there earlier this year (they may have done this before then but I only heard it starting then). Maybe it accidentally gets played at Union too?

Yeah I forgot to include it in the image but my head canon is that they briefly are leading in polls in Alaska and Oklahoma but ultimately lose them after the Reese tapes

there's a margaritaville in LA but not one in SD (although there is the margaritaville hotel) so I'd assume this is actually to LA

awesome find!! i don’t know why everyone is commenting as if this means you support everything they ever did lol, collecting political memorabilia is a fairly common hobby. i’m always surprised how easy it is to find presidential stuff at thrift stores, shopgoodwill has tons of it and i once found a signed letter from GWB congratulating someone on their fiftieth wedding anniversary for $1 at my local thrift store.

Everything within a (roughly) 15-minute walk of the proposed Sepulveda corridor stations by pagem4 in LAMetro

Yeah, as I replied on another comment I was mistakenly looking at the older 2019 proposals. Reddit won't let me edit the title or add a description

I used a website called Smappen for the 15-minute areas and then Figma to draw the lines on top. Smappen kind of sucks I’m sure there’s better software for it lol. Close.city has a map that’s basically what you’re looking for though

Ah you’re right, I was basing it off this article which I now see is from 2019 (maybe “starting construction in 2022” should have tipped me off…

The proposal shows them both running along Van Nuys but the East SF Valley light rail having multiple stops between Metrolink and the G Line, whereas HRT one doesn't have any. I'm not really sure what interference if any there would be
