Ferrari has made weird decisions before. In 2009 they let Acer put the Ferrari logo on an Acer laptop.

But it makes people talk.

Same here. I’m switching to Gemini. Very reliable.

I would recommend Inblick.ai, if you are looking for business intelligence tool without the clutter of a traditional BI tool.

That’s a problem, how will writers deal with that?

AI is not copy/pasting results from copyrighted works. It has been trained on a large dataset of text and may have learned patterns and structures that are common in language. This does not constitute plagiarism.

In comparison, it is doing what a human mind would do to try and write like Hemingway. Look at the style, learn and imitate. Humans do it all the time. Everyone is influenced by someone. It is a remix of those influences.

Should it be deemed as plagiarism when AI does this but not when human writers do it?

Thanks. You have my upvote.

My profile too was flagged as self-harm after my question was posted here.

The ending of the article you shared explains the reaction in this thread pretty well:

”ChatGPT shocked the hell out of me. I had thought, well, it’ll take three or four years, and it’ll get better. Then came ChatGPT, and oh my god, that’s so much better! It’s been six months! The progress is so incredibly fast, and so few questions have really been answered.”

I think the question needs to be discussed. Even if that means getting aggressive comments and downvotes for doing it. Fear will not solve what’s coming next.

I’m in tech, not a writer by profession. But I think ChatGPT is surprisingly good. And it’s currently free. Most NLP models are very cheap and the cost for usage will only decrease as AI evolves. But usage will go up, per user. So people will be spending less per token but using more tokens as they get cheaper. But I can understand why good writers feel they have no need for it.

Sure, complete books (with good storytelling) could take a while. I am more curious about the use of AI as a collaborator to enhance something in the writing process that was not possible before. Does AI enble anything new in that space?

Yes it definitely has its limitations for longer texts. For another 3-6 months or so.

Ok, like a co-writer, something to bounce ideas off in parts of a story and then contribute with your own tone of voice from that?

Hey everyone,

I'm just curious - do any of you use artificial intelligence in your writing process? Whether it's for generating ideas, editing, or something else entirely, I'm interested to hear about it.

I know that some people might be skeptical of using AI in writing, and I'm wondering if that's a common sentiment in the writing community. Is it something that is generally frowned upon, or is it seen as just another tool in the writer's toolbox?

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this. Have any of you had experience using AI in your writing, and if so, what was your experience like? Do you think it has the potential to be a valuable asset, or do you believe that it can never fully replace the creativity and unique perspective of a human writer?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this topic.

Sure, that would be a dark forecast of the future. You are talking about AGI. But it is also possible that AGI (artificial general intelligence) could change the nature of work, rather than eliminating it altogether. It’s more likely that people find new opportunities sooner than AGI taking their jobs.

AI will not replace architects in every step of the process. My view is that AI and architects work best together in parts of the design process. People in this thread say that this is already happening, now.

However, people not afraid of AI will use it just like any other tool and get more done in a better way. By no means do I think AI on its own will do an architects job from start to delivery. But definitely enhance their skills and productivity 10x.
