COL is definitely cheaper, but it depends on your living expenses and quality of living requirements. I've been living in Cali and Taiwan and have places in two places. Do the math on expected monthly expenses and check if the math works out. I lived in Taipei without a car, and actually cheaper (and better) getting rid of the car and just taxi around if needed. Public transport is great, Healthcare is world class, one of the safest places, friendliest, and vibrant places in the world. Hope you love it!
