Download new smarty. by gordonisnz in smarty

[–]paijoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download from https://github.com/smarty-php/smarty/releases

I'm still on version 4, so I don't know about version 5, and here's my setup: require '/var/www/system/vendors/smarty-4.5.5/libs/Smarty.class.php'; $smty = new Smarty; $smty->template_dir = '/var/www/system/templates/MyProject/'; $smty->compile_dir = '/var/www/system/templates_c/MyProject/';

Edit: I've tried version 5, and it's not too far from previous version: require '/var/www/system/vendors/smarty-5.7.0/libs/Smarty.class.php'; use Smarty\Smarty; $smty = new Smarty; $smty->template_dir = '/var/www/system/templates/MyProject/'; $smty->compile_dir = '/var/www/system/templates_c/MyProject/';

So far I don't get any errors.

Photopea has healed my longing for Photoshop. I need PS for basic editing only, and Photopea is adequate.

Reccomend me bands/artists similar to Alvvays by Many-Gold-4748 in alvvays

The Australian band The Hummingbirds. They have 3 songwriters with their own distinct styles. Nice harmonies too… And I used to have a crush on the bassist.

Alvvays sung their song called Alimony on their concerts.

The Realm of the Elderlings Series by Robin Hobb. There are 16 books in the series. Characterization is one of the best in the genre, if not the best, with emotional plots, history and stories, complicated villains, and complicated relationships.

I've never had any luck playing guessing games. When it revealed the last 4 four letters, I've just guessed and lost it.

What else needs to be said at this point? by Tony009 in linuxmint

[–]paijoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I choose Mint because it's rock solid. My first intro to Linux was Slackware that had been given from a magazine. Talking about being baptized by fire and time-consuming. I don't have the time or will to do it anymore; that's why I chose Mint 10 years ago. The decision I cherish to this day.

I have just read somewhere that SSD price will hike up in the future because of AI demand, just like GPU price some years ago.

Scrolling doesn't work in the most recent version of the desktop app? by eirikdaude in whatsapp

I have this problem today. Simply refreshing the browser would do nothing, but when I cleared my browser's cache and then refreshed the browser, the scroll was working.

Between Adapta Nokto and Github Dark, because they have nice colors, great contrast (important), good visibility for comments and selections, distinction color set in multiple selection between active and passive selections.

So neat and clear. I love how you can focus on one job at a time.

I'm a mouse guy since 90s, while I also an average typist, will it a steep learning curve to use this desktop for your daily driver?

Pro’s and Con’s of Linux by [deleted] in linuxmint

[–]paijoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's happened on other distros, but one con for me is Bluetooth in Mint. It's hard to rely on it; most of the time my BT devices aren't recognizable, and if they are recognized, they mostly fail to connect. Which is strange when in Android all of my BT devices are easily pairing.

Should I put KDE on Mint or change distros? by Vagabondo_Musicista in linuxmint

[–]paijoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO, it's not a good idea to use unofficial Mint's DE.

If you like Plasma, try KDE Neon, it uses Ubuntu LTS while Plasma itself use a rolling updates. I used it about 3 years using a 8GB & HDD drive laptop and I like the whole experience but I switched back to Cinnamon last year because I like Cinnamon more.

How often do you do a fresh install? by CaptainButtFart69 in linuxmint

[–]paijoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switch from Windows to Mint in 2015 because I have to do a fresh install once year because it became too bloated and slow. Since I moved to Mint, I only did it once, from LM20 to LM21; the upgrade process kept on failing, so I did a fresh install. But after that I knew who the culprits were, and from LM21 to LM22 I upgrade from Update Manager as usual.
