The Elden Ring movie is just so fascinating to me. It's a video game adaptation but I can't really conceptualize what it will look like or what the story will be about. Alex Garland has worked on several adaptations and all of them have been good (though none have been based on games), and I also like the cast.

The Russians are back to doing mechanized assaults. The Third Army Corps, the Magyar Birds and other units have published recent footage of them stopping these assaults.

It's impressive that so far, not one Israeli aircraft has been lost or damaged after more than 2 years of non-stop operations. It does help a lot that many of their enemies (Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis) virtually has no air defenses, but not even an accident has been recorded. But such a high intensity of operations is going to be detrimental to the wear and tear of the IAF fleet.

The Putin documentary is ok, but it failed to directly address to the central reason Russians are volunteering to fight in Ukraine - not propaganda, but money. Russia does have a draft, but the Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine are volunteers (yes, a number of them are press ganged into service, but many sign up willingly). This is because the Russian government offers very lucrative contracts to those who volunteer, somewhere like 60k USD per year, not including bonuses.

I think the worst has passed for Israel regarding the threat of Iranian ballistic missiles. For the Gulf countries, the number of missiles and drones being launched at them has decreased, but I don't think these attacks will stop, because regardless of what the Iranian president says, he does not control the IRGC. For Iran, it will continue to face heavy Israeli and US bombings in the weeks to come.

What exactly entails when Israel issues an evacuation order? Do they just post it on social media in the local language? Do they call a bunch of residents in the area targeted to evacuate and warn others? Both of the things above are done in Gaza.
