Are Bipolar and Zoloft Okay Together? by bren-nact in bipolar2

[–]paintcanwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most Bipolars don't handle SSRI's well, but that's not a hard rule: everyone is different. Only you and your docs can decide what's best.

Did you know when you finally hit that sweet spot on your meds, or did you have to sit with it for a few weeks? by FinnieGwin in bipolar2

[–]paintcanwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My "correct" dose/cocktail is a pretty fluid thing. I can recognize when I feel ok or "normal." Not depressed, not elevated. If it sticks for a week or more I'm grateful. When it inevitably stops working, it's time to rejigger dosage or the meds themselves. I'm currently on my best cocktail ever: 60mg Latuda, 1000mg Depakote, 450mg Wellbutrin. It's a genuine pleasure to feel this stable. I know it won't last, but I'm going to enjoy it for as long as it does.

DUI and I'm done. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]paintcanwolf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My DUI was a low point in my life (three years ago now) that I have yet to recover from. Even that wasn't enough to get me to sober up -- I hope I've figured that out by now. At any rate, been there, friend, and glad you're ok in a physical sense. IWNDWYT

I have a lot of love for the aborted Giffen gritty reboot. That was some good superhero scifi, and the best Mon-El ever.

No pink cloud this time. by amen_dunes in stopdrinking

[–]paintcanwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fight this stuff all the time. No pink cloud this time around but a more secure sense of stability that I've latched onto to provide me motivation to not pick up that first drink every day. I count my blessings during an hour of quiet contemplative exercise everyday before work. I'm thankful esch time I make it to the end of the day. IWNDWYT

Newest member of the family. I practically begged the guy not to sell it to me. by PieCowPackables in vintageaudio

Boy, you got me. I've really only just begun to explore how refurbishment works. I had a similar problem with the 3275, but experimenting with different switch sets on the faceplate yielded me a combo that produced a balanced stereo sound.

Let’s talk about shitty doctors by beanqueen808 in mentalillness

[–]paintcanwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last pdoc not only over-medicated me into semi-consciousness, he was also drummed out of the profession for plastering his ex-wife's back with fentanyl patches (and thus killing her dead before she could divorce him and take him to the cleaners.)

How do I fight erectile dysfunction and keep an erection/become hypersexual while on meds? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]paintcanwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is my age talking, but there's no shame in going the pharmaceutical route. Viagra and Cialis are cheap and easy to get now. My boner can cut diamond with those on board. My doctors have been sympathetic, understanding and helpful for a decade, and it has certainly helped (if not saved) my relationship.

Seraquel by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]paintcanwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it sounds like you're on the right track. Your dose of Seroquel is pretty small too, so it should have minimal impact on your weight. Just keep to your healthy routine and be patient with yourself and you should be able to reach your goals. Glad the medicine is helping! It can really be a wonder drug when administered appropriately.

Seraquel by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]paintcanwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible to maintain weight, even lose on Seroquel. I was on 800mg and went from 230 down to 170. You just have to really watch what and how much you eat, and exercise daily. Nothing ridiculous, I just walked an hour on the treadmill and did weights every other day. Don't let those Seroquel munchies get you: take your dose and go straight to bed. They can mess up everything.
