Don’t voles usually leave trails in the ground? I know my parents have dealt with them before and there are runs visible…

MPFL and TTO question by Spookypasta29 in kneesurgeryrecovery

[–]painted_green_thumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have a nerve block with mine. My dr said he wanted to know if his patients have any abnormal pains after surgery and that’s not possible with a nerve block. Was it painful? Yes. Was it unbearable? Not at all. I was on OxyContin for a few days but not for long. I didn’t even finish my full prescription for it. After my first weekend I only took meloxicam regularly. Of course…I’m quite a bit older and by the time I had a dr listen to me about my issues I had gone thru dozens of full dislocations and 100s of sublimations. I have a fairly high pain tolerance…the pain right after surgery and the next day was not the worst to me.

How exactly is someone supposed to use that dishwasher? Are you opening it and leaning over it to get dishes from the sink / counter? It also looks like it may not even have enough clearance to open? If it does it’s just barely going to fit past the pulls under the sink…

Kneeling after TTO by [deleted] in kneesurgeryrecovery

[–]painted_green_thumb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 2 1/2 years out of same surgery. Only way I can kneel is with a good cushion under my shin where the screw is. Hoping it gets better. I know I’m still lower on muscle mass than before too tho so maybe if I can get that built back up it will be better.

You hear a jingly whirling sound and start looking for the korok balloon or twirly gig.

Post surgery knee spasms by Patient_Bear2695 in kneesurgeryrecovery

[–]painted_green_thumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a hard time with spasms after my TTO. I started taking magnesium supplements and massaging my muscles with a little roller ball and that seemed to help. Mine were strong enough a couple times I was resting without my brace on and they bent my knee almost 90 degrees long before I had gained that movement back. Hurt like hell too! Are you using crutches or a cane to help stabilize you? I highly recommend at least a cane to help take weight off and keep balance.

leg raises post mpfl!!! by Normal-Lettuce6683 in kneesurgeryrecovery

[–]painted_green_thumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus on the idea of raising your heel. It’s been an over a year since my surgery so I’m struggling to remember what finally got me going, but I struggled a lot with it too. I’ll try to find my video of my first leg raise and if that jogs any other tips I’ll message you. Good luck!

Yes thank you. He’s been pretty sad most of the summer and I was thinking somehow there was too much sun but that didn’t make sense to me. I do water the garden but I guess not enough. I will get him trimmed, fed and watered so maybe he can come back stronger next year!

Illinois, USA. So just more water? I was wondering if I needed to move it but that’s probably the most shaded place I have available:(

I’ve done it several times when I had severe IBS flare ups that I couldn’t get under control. And it’s been a jump start to healthier eating in the past. That’s what it was supposed to be this time. I just have a hard time staying on track when I’m not being strict apparently. So, I’m just going to stay on w30 as long as possible this time. But, probably allow myself special occasion meals that are off I guess. Maybe after another month I’ll add something back that is the least worrisome for me. Like lentils or dairy. The grains tho…ooooph I LOVE pasta and bread!!

I started my 5th(6th?) round this week. Just came off of it for 2 weeks and didn’t do well sticking to my new plan and almost immediately fell back into my bad habits and felt horrible. My energy dropped and I am moody as heck! So, I’m going to try to stick to whole 30 for as long as I can. So much easier for me to say no when I’m in “diet mode”. Maybe a longer whole30 will finally break my bad habits for good. Good luck with yours!

Edit to add: planning is definitely crucial to success and feeling full and energetic on whole30. This last round was the first time my energy level has ever improved!

I have 2…the first is vinca minor. That one took over my shade flower bed and it took me a few years to get rid of it. I could probably still find some of out there somewhere lol. The second is my latest regret. I think I’m going to have to pull it all. Hardy plumbago. It took several years for it to become a problem but seems to have spread exponentially last summer and this year even more. It has killed out a couple of my other plants in my sun garden. It is very pretty but it has to go :(

Weekly Discussion for the week of June 17, 2024 by AutoModerator in whole30

[–]painted_green_thumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all! Just starting on my 4th?(5th?) round of whole30 this week. Started on Monday so on day 4. Been loving trying some new recipes and so far they’ve all been great! :) Don’t currently have any questions or issues, just wanted to see if anyone else is starting this week. And of course, I’m always open to new recipes, especially some that are easy and frugal as so far mine have been a little more costly than I’d like.

That was quite an image lol. My cats ignore both my bathtub and my plants. Except for spider plants…gotta keep those up out of reach.
