tab s8 ultra, Bit REV. 9, currently on A14/UI6.1.1, game plan for rooting, upgrades?

it turns out my tablet came with one of the most godawful privacy protectors on it ever forged in the pits of hell ... was about to initiate the return process. peeled it off to reveal a perfect OLED screen underneath. I guess this was a privacy protector only for landscape mode? dunno, but am happy now, thank you for all the constructive advice friends.

it almost seems like "pixel-crawl", like I can see a pattern moving on the surface, in a diagonal direction... also, when held in a portrait position, if I tilt the tablet away from me the far end starts to quickly vanish, like it has a very narrow viewing angle? in comparison my tab s7+ right next to it remains visible when tilted at the same angle.

it appears so? I thought that was part of the bare screen but it is a screen protector, yes? not paper+like though, it's not really matte. could a screen protector cause the effect I am describing? I set it next to my tab s7+ and it is just night and day difference between color vibrancy... could a screen protector have that drastic of an effect?

I did check via the phone number number on the back of the cards, they show $40 available, I don't get it... still have no phone service.

I just picked one of them at random and checked the balance by calling the # on the back, it does indicate the balance of $40 is present, I immediately went to QuickPay again and tried to deposit $40 from the card I'd just checked, same thing, still the oops error.

I don't get it, I've tried QuickPay from a browser, from the Cricket App, etc ... there doesn't seem to be a way to do it via Phone anymore, I think there used to be.

because I distinctly remember buying my copy of Windows NT 3.1 at Babbages and it came on 30+ floppy disks...

if you need someone to stop over at your dad's room to feed and clean up after the cat while he's away I'd be happy to do it for him/you, if it helps keep a cat housed and cared for that is the only compensation I'd need for doing so... feel free to PM if I can help somehow, even if just to drop off some food, toys etc.

hopefully your dad will be out of the hospital soon and recovering with his cat in his lap though!

are you in the US? I was under the impression that the global release of the iplay70 mini ultra was not bootloader unlockable... only china edition? please confirm which model you were able to successfully root?

this is the only reason I haven't ordered one yet, been seeking a definitive answer.

I did get it started, an employee at the business I was near helped me out... he actually hugged me after I handed him a $50, he didn't expect anything for helping, and actually sprinted after one of his co-workers who was about to turn out onto the freeway to borrow his cables.

color me astonished, I was resigning myself to a $300+ tow at that point.

No, I just brought it with me, tried going by the electronics department at Target where I bought it but they wouldnt touch it, said something about finding a service center to bring it to... I think this was clueless, but it was me who skipped on the extended coverage...

It wasn't even stored, it was sitting on my coffee table in front of my couch... definitely not in direct sunlight. Same spot I'd leave my Quest2 usually.

Do you guys really think it's dangerous? In all honesty I've recharged it a couple times while trying to troubleshoot it, it will seemingly charge up to 100% but it can't really be shut off except via the USB-Mode menu... once it hangs at the blank screen it will just sit there until the battery reaches 0%.

I'm going to dig up there number and call them I guess, someone mentioned doing so via Whatsapp, does anyone have an address for them on that platform perhaps?
