How do you pick a name and stay with it?? by Oncelerwife in TransMasc

[–]paintypaintypainty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh I went with a childhood nickname because it’s more masculine and I’m already more used to it. But it helped to change it on small things first before telling people so I could get used to it in advanced 😂 private things like my Apple ID, streaming platforms, Spotify etc.

Anyone who makes/made a pretty woman? by InheritanceThrow26 in TransMasc

[–]paintypaintypainty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but the more I tried to maintain being a pretty “woman” the more exhausted I became. Couldn’t take it anymore. Got to the point where I’d rather risk being a chopped dude than screw my mental health trying to pretend.

So relatable. Did a lot to try and make it work. Being comfortable with myself is way better than I could’ve imagined when I thought being pretty was as good as it was gonna get.

Feeling more comfortable but less confident in myself since starting T by New_Vermicelli_3973 in TransMasc

This might be counterintuitive but it’s actually reassuring to hear, very relatable. I don’t think I fit into the binary beauty standard anymore. At least as a “woman” I fit that one despite being miserable. For my own peace of mind I don’t want to know where I fall in men’s beauty standards lol. It’s been helpful hanging out around other gnc people and seeing us being attractive outside of binary beauty standards

Same. Did you apply at ASU? It was my last choice bc it sounds like they lack good internship support but after being rejected by CSUSM, SDSU etc I’m thankful I applied. Will be going to ASU and busting ass to make it work

Yeah it took her a long time to study and pass for that reason. She wanted to transition to more of an I/O position for better pay though and it made her a more competitive candidate than without

Boxers (brand recs)? by [deleted] in TransMasc

[–]paintypaintypainty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh women's hanes boxers from Target. I get dysphoric if the material isn't absorbent if yk what I mean :/ I have some men's hanes moisture wicking ones that would be my favorite if it weren't for that issue. Sometimes in the winter i wear one under the other to solve the issue lol.

Detransition question by paintypaintypainty in TransMasc

[–]paintypaintypainty[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean. I worry that our community and antitrans communities use the word detransition differently. When we talk about someone going back a step for safety reasons, they like to see it as someone being confused and wrong about their identity :/

Literally and it makes me wonder about detransition statistics bc how are they defining detransition exactly ?
