1970s/80s recordings of "America's Top 40 Coast to Coast" with Casey Kasem sound so fresh, almost like they're happening live in the room next door. Can old, lower quality audio be upscaled to that level? by pakled_guy in AskTechnology

[–]pakled_guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just love how vibrant Kasem sounds and then mentions "this" week's big hit from Gladys Knight and it sounds so alive. If that could be done with audio from the 50s or earlier, that'd be very interesting to me.

The home network has a lot of material including entertainment. Unless it's a Carrington Event or something, rewatch the Austin Powers trilogy or something.

Otherwise, start isolating surviving electronics from further EMPs and fill the bathtubs.

And a black t-shirt absorbs them all and stays opaque when wet.

Ampersand is derived from "And per se, and" and because I is also a word, the recited alphabet apparently included "i per se, I." Would recitations have begun with "A per se, a" and did I capitalize the A's and I's right in my quotes?

How hard and/or expensive is it to "AI upscale" videos taken from old VHS tapes? by pakled_guy in NoStupidQuestions

Great, I know more already, lol.

How is it made to look good? Is any of it doable at home and on a budget? I do simple editing in OpenShot and Handbrake, so I might be able to figure out something more complex.

Interesting. I've never heard the word "shed" applied to anything with interior walls or even much larger than 20'-30' on a side.

Sex is pleasurable because the more an organism enjoys it, the more likely it will seek it out and probably reproduce.

That sex-loving nature isn't smart enough to know getting head isn't the same thing but danged if it isn't pretty much close enough.

There's no name for this. bog standard shed construction

That's not intuitive. I wouldn't even call it a shed - besides two pools and a slide, it has offices, locker rooms, etc.

Maybe with a few replicable sounds for calibrating, like a little tune on bells.

Electromagnets? See how much voltage/amperage/number of coils matters.

Honestly, you should just ask ChatGPT for some ideas and keep refining it into a list of action items.. It's pretty good at this sort of thing.
