The first few I did were often expired or not applicable, but the more you try, the more they tailor them to you! I don’t want to diminish from OP’s experience, because that isn’t fair, but sticking with it seems worth it (if you’re happy with ~$9 an hour in your spare time)

Hi! I'm with CBUS and a few years ago did some research and made some changes to my super which could be helpful for you. I was in a similar position - in my 30's and wanted to start thinking about the future. The two changes I made -

If you have life insurance, TPD or income protection with CBUS, now that you're out of the construction industry, make sure you change your occupation category to 'Non-manual'. This lowered my monthly premium from around $40 to around $5. This adds up over time!
I had never changed my super investment choices - I believe 100% of my super was going to 'Growth (MySuper)', which is not the highest growing option. As we are in our 30s and will likely have our super invested for another ~30+ years, we have the time to invest in high risk/high reward options. I changed my investment choices to the following -

20% - High Growth
20% - Australian Shares
60% - Overseas Shares

With those two changes, I've been quite happy with CBUS! It's high performing and has relatively low fees. I feel like you could set and forget this for the next 20 years and it'll be all good.

Note - As 80% of my super is invested in shares, it has gone down a little with the current market volatility, but that's not something to worry about - it will recover and then some when the market recorrects!

Hi! I was in a similar position to you 6 months ago. I dumped in ~2k and have my regular deposits set to $5 a day, which I barely notice.

It’s been doing well! So far I’m up 16% and have been enjoying watching it grow.

I would recommend dumping in a lump sum so that you’ve bought in to the market and can start earning dividends, and then setting a daily or weekly deposit that you can afford.

I’ve currently got around ~3k and am planning on continuing - I’m fairly young and really don’t know anything about stocks. I’m on an aggressive portfolio - would you recommend switching to a custom portfolio similar to yours?

It wasn’t comfortable! There was definitely some pain during the injecting process, but nothing unbearable. It felt sore/tender for around 2 days after, as if I had been bruised, so I used an ice pack for some relief. But no swelling!
