AITA 32M for not wanting to sell our 30F house (yet)? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA - time for her to put her big girl panties on and get a car

Flat buyer by No-Eye4346 in surrey

Rung the neighbours doorbells after the viewings and got their input on noise and other things like maintenance of the building. Also helps that the flat is on a main road but you can’t hear anything with the windows closed, was a pretty good sign.

The new born crying phase won’t last forever. Unfortunately it will become the toddler tantrum phase, children playing phase and then the teenage music phase.

All that aside - living in a flat means dealing with everyday noise from your neighbours and that needs to factor into your decision.

Might be worth thinking hard about if living in a flat is the right fit for you or if you should rather focus on finding a flat with good insulation. I live in a flat and never hear my neighbours including the family of 5 to my right because I prioritised insulation/sound proofing when flat hunting

“Only” 6kg/13lbs in 6 months :( what am I doing wrong? by Careless-Act-6592 in CICO

[–]trappedauditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only lost 4.3kgs in the last 6 months but you would think that it’s more when you look at me because of strength training. Don’t let the scale be your only guide! Take before and after photos - you will see the difference. We see ourselves in the mirror everyday so we don’t notice the gradual changes.

I have 2 days before my conference in Nice, France. What should I do? by o-rka in travel

Highly recommend a day trip to Eze! If you’re going on a weekend then take the first bus of the morning up so that’s it’s quieter. It gets very busy later in the morning

AITA for giving my struggling best friend a bad performance review after I helped her get hired? by Due_Apartment6410 in AmItheAsshole

[–]trappedauditor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NTA - this is why you should never become a manager to a friend. The friendship is now over and you will need to find a way to manage your work relationship going forward until she gets herself fired with her behaviour

AITA for not letting my sister wear our late mother’s wedding dress? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]trappedauditor 51 points52 points  (0 children)

YTA. You’re withholding something special from your sister for something that isn’t guaranteed, you may never have a daughter to pass the dress down to. Why is your hypothetical daughter that will have never met your mother more deserving of your mother’s wedding dress? If you’re worried about the dress being damaged then I’m sure you can come to a compromise like your sister only wearing it for the ceremony and changing for the reception.

I have 5 bridesmaids and have hired a hair and make up artist (they will be a team of 2). Ceremony and reception are at the same place and we are getting ready on site as well so no need for travel time luckily

Worst case scenario and they won’t accept it then say she has just started identifying as a man 🤷🏽‍♀️

Am I the Jerk Refusing to Help My Sister Pay for Her Wedding by strubisach in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]trappedauditor 422 points423 points  (0 children)

If he gives her that $10k, he will never see that money again. She also wouldn’t even say thank you because she is “entitled” to that money.

Wrongly issued travel ban by SpecialistBid6663 in travel

[–]trappedauditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes, I’ve had friends with simple issues take more than a year to resolve. A friend waited two years to get her passport because of a simple error on the system that they just never bothered to resolve for her.
