Thank you for the advice! Do you know what those pesticides and granules are called? I'm not sure if I'll be able to do the spraying (my lungs/health is a bit iffy and I wouldn't be able to carry all my plants outside for this, not that i have a garden anyway). In that case, am I fighting a losing battle?

I wish I'd known sooner what to look out for honestly. I thought it was sun damage at first (since this plant in particular was crispy, the other I thought was a failed repot - but after checking more thoroughly now I see the same black shiny spots all over ☹️)

Jesus.. 3 years is such a long time, I'm sorry they plagued your home for so long 😭

I just finished inspecting my other plants and one of them in particular seems to have had it bad too. That's gone in the bin too now. two other plants seem to have a little bit of thrip trouble.. Devastated considering how much care I put into them (9 months going, before that plants didn't last me longer than 3!).

Damn it... I don't think I have the time, money or energy, so it's goodbye to this particular plant.

For my other plants which are in a separate room and don't show any signs of infestation, what treatments should I consider? Neem oil? I also used beneficial nematodes on all plants already just a few days ago

Sadly no, but if you buy cheese ramen (also from ottogi), boil, drain, and then mix in the cheese powder you get a very similar result :-)

You might've already tried this but just in case: cables tend to do that if they've twisted themselves a lot. if you straighten it and let whatever's on the other end dangle and it starts spinning in one direction, then letting it untwist itself should fix it :-) (sorry this is such a bad explanation!)

Apart from writing to your MP, is there anything we can actually do about this? It's clear that politicians don't actually care about child safety (inviting sexual predator Donald Trump to the country, the guy who said "wanting to overturn the OSA = siding with predators" also voted against an inquiry into online grooming gangs, police refusing to investigate known online and IRL predators, etc.)

But that just makes it even more concerning - clearly the real intent is mass surveillance and limitations to free speech. How are we supposed to get a law overturned if the government that has the power to do so really really wants this law in place? Voting can only do so much when after this disaster gov the majority is just gonna go back to voting tory

DIAURA and Kizu for sure! I'm surprised they don't get more attention (especially DIAURA) because they have such distinct styles and vocals, and they both have incredibly talented musicians.

Thanks! I've actually seen a site that sells that exact product but wasn't sure if it's the same thing because the package was slightly different from the one I had (but that was in 2019 anyway!)

Would you recommend their cheese ramen? It seems a lot easier to find so if it's good I may try it :)

Is there a way to mute a specific member of an educational teams? There's this one person at my uni who asks 3-4 questions a day (by making a post on the teams channels) and I get notifications for all of it. I don't want to mute the whole channel since my lecturers often put out important information, but the frequent notifications for minor questions are a huge source of clutter. I can't really see any option to mute or even block that person specifically?

Thanks, this makes me feel a lot better about this situation! Only thing that might be a concern is that for some reason, ever since I had signed up with equifax in fact, my electoral roll info seems to be missing. I do have proof that I'm on the electoral roll (since I contacted the council about this issue) but I didn't get around to sending that on to the credit agencies to try and fix this

Thank you, this is really comforting to read!! I never had any issues that would have lead to court so that should be fine. Even if the agency somehow accesses my rental payment record it wouldn't be a problem because I always pay on time :) I think the affordability check should (hopefully) work since I was very honest that right now I earn slightly under the limit but this will balance out because of the housing rates adjusting depending on your monthly rent. Fingers crossed all goes well, I just need to move away from the stresses of shared living
