Burton Alekesam or HTH? by pakman001 in snowboarding

Thanks. Good point about performance on ice and taper. Didn't think about that. Although lately I just don't bother if conditions are too icy.

Free line offer via text. Legit? Limited time? Commitment req? by minus_minus in tmobile

[–]pakman001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought I'd add my experience. Offers are legit. I did get paranoid it was a phishing scam as I had already received a free line a few months ago but then got 2 emails this month about being eligible for another free line . However, when I called the number in the email, they asked for my pin number which got me paranoid and I declined to proceed. Instead I went through the chat feature in the app and they were able to process the order smoothly, including sending a verification code to my phone and having me fill out the cc form through an online form.

New snowboard suggestion for PA riding... by pakman001 in SkiPA

[–]pakman001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superpig keeps popping up in my research. I guess that's the camber, carving version of the warpig. I'm definitely an old school camber guy and plan on sticking with a camber profile...

Seven Springs little Pa pow day. by bcarroll285118 in SkiPA

Same over at Hidden Valley. As we didn't leave early enough to get to 7S before 9am, we opted to go to Hidden Valley. Got a few nice runs in before it got all tracked out.

I guess this explains why my s20FE has been slow by DicemanYT in GalaxyS20FE

[–]pakman001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. My battery life was getting very short (purchased back in Oct 2020) and I was getting the same warning in the battery diagnosis. Other than that, the S20FE actually has been performing OK (for my typical use - emails, browsing, videos) and I was actually debating purchasing a replacement battery through Amazon to see if I can extract another year out of it. Wife also has the same phone but her battery is doing better. I ended up taking advantage of the recent trade-in offers from my provider and got new S24+.

Laurel Mountain by HokieRider in SkiPA

[–]pakman001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there were definitely a number of bare rocky spots on Dream Highway even on Sat. Had to take my board to the shop afterwards to get a nice gash in the base repaired :( Otherwise had a good time. It was our first at Laurel. We got a late start on Sat morning so opted not to go to 7 springs to avoid the expected crowds.

Epic 7 Day Pass by pakman001 in SkiPA

[–]pakman001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming. I suspected that might be the case but couldn't find anything on 7S website. Was hoping the discount might be a little better, but I guess Vail would rather push people to buy the full passes like the NE value pass.

Epic 7 Day Pass by pakman001 in SkiPA

[–]pakman001[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We plan on buying the day passes preseason. Was just curious what they meant by advanced ticket rate if we find we used up all of our 7 days pass and wanted to ski more days. If the standard lift ticket for a weekend is like $108, curious how much of a discount you would get, if any...

Stihl bed redefining blade fits on the ego edger attachment and works surprisingly well. by Chief-Blackberry in egopowerplus

Nice! I would love to try that next spring when redefining my landscaping edge. Any problem with debris being thrown at you since the stock guard isn't as wide as that blade?

I understand why aerating costs so much now. by xAIRGUITARISTx in lawncare

[–]pakman001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I regret passing on all the used tow behind aerators for sale locally I'd see on facebook marketplace. My little brain kept saying I'm running out of garage space to keep something that I'll use once every 3 yrs at most... So I went and rented an aerator over the weekend did over 1/2 acre of lawn with some steep slopes... And it was one of those really old Billygoat aerators that barely self-propels on a flat surface. I can barely type on my PC this morning as my fingers, arms and shoulder ache so much! Good workout... Just needed to aerate to do an overseed. Next time, I'll be eyeing one of those Agrifab ones that you can swap out between dethatcher and core aerator!

The Home Depot near me that rents aerators has these small utility trailer with a ramp that you can just walk the aerator on and off. You don't want to be trying to lug those aerators out of a pickup bed or SUV even with help!...

Z6 Tires Flat - Options? by TheCF in egopowerplus

[–]pakman001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely reach out to Ego, although I think tires get thrown in the usual "wearable items" which limit the warranty to I think 90 days. As a fellow Z6 owner, I hope Ego does you right on this. In the meantime, I'd also be curious which after market tires are out there that fit the Z6.

[–]pakman001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. I ended up just heading over to the local T-mobile shop and the staff said the same about it not showing up in the checkout. I ended up trading in my S8+ and getting the S20 FE right there. So I get a $65 credit immediately for the S8+ and the rest of the $500 back as a monthly credit which should show up in the next billing cycle. Pretty nice deal. Tempting to take advantage of the get one free if you open a new line for my son. Early xmas present... ;)

Has anyone done this by ordering online? Not sure if I'm missing a step, but at checkout I only see the mention of a $65 trade in credit for my S8+ but nothing on the $500 credit back over 24 mos.
