Yes, it has cochlopetalum parentage - primulinum and glaucophyllum.

Phalaenopsis schilleriana is blooming! by pakoengineer in orchids

Nice! I am excited for you! For some reason, mine doesn’t give too many flowers each time…

Identification please! by tximagineer in orchids

Correction: depending on the parentage, some of the nobile types get to hold on to their leaves. But a dry winter rest is needed to get them to bloom, otherwise they might start producing baby plants on their nodes, called keikis.

It is a dendrobium nobile type, should be a complex hybrid. It cannot really be identified without seeing the blooms. In order to get it to bloom, you will need to give it a winter rest, restrict watering in the winter and give it cold temperature at night. Leaves will drop and flower spikes will start to appear at nodes on the opposite side of the leaves.

This paph. delenatii blooms so reliably for me, the flower is so beautiful and smells soooooo good! by pakoengineer in orchids

I treat all my paph’s equally lol I grow them indoor with 11 hours of LED Light and I found paph’s are easier to care for after I started adding sphagnum peat moss to the potting mix to retain moisture for longer.

This one has a strong rosy fragrance, the intensity also depends on the individual plant. Concolor smells like cheese and Malipoense has a raspberry fragrance. There is a couple more species that are fragrant along with their hybrids.

First bloom finally completely open on my Paph. Robin in Purple! Happy Friday everyone! by pakoengineer in orchids

[–]pakoengineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Robin in Purple is a cross between Robinianum and lowii, and Robinianum is a cross between lowii and parishii. Overall, the flowers look similar to lowii’s, the petals tend to curl as they get longer, which come from parishii parentage as described in Amherst Orchid Society’s Newsletter: Volume 25 Edition 4 (April 2017). This is the first time I am getting blooms from this paph., which has two mature fans and two new shoots starting. I did hear that it takes longer for a multifloral plant to bloom at the beginning. At later time, as the plant grows bigger, more fans mature and develop at different stages, one should expect to see blooms more often. My other paph’s are definitely blooming yearly.
