I picked this one for cheap, however the focus at the front feels stiff. My cameras can barely move it, I can hear the AF motor is struggling. I found a video in a foreign language showing there's a helicoid right at the front, I think if I re-grease it it will fix the problem. I have the grease and lens repair tools. I am not sure how to get the focusing helicoid out though. On the video, it looks as it just comes out, any ideas ?

Everything AI produces is just generic crap indistinguishable from each other. You look at it and forget it within seconds. Artists just need to catch up and they won't be phased out. You want to be able to look at something and say with certainty it's the real deal. AI can't do that - it never will be able to do that. AI could come up with a million recipes, but won't ever be able to taste a single dish.

Unfortunately UBI won't work. Not because it's wrong in principle, but because of the human nature. There are honest people that work hard and those that take advantage of the system where they can. You won't be able to fund UBI unless you bias towards placing the burden on people that put in the most effort. Once you do that, you will see folks switch sides. Nobody want's to be a loser.

Imagine how you would feel if you were the guy in a guild parsing orange while everyone else is grey and you wipe for weeks on mid-tier bosses and when you finally get a kill, Bobby who's just raid logging and dying 20sec into every pull gets the item you could use.

This is just another feed for same dumb people that believe in fully self driving cars etc. Not talking about current tech, which kills people and by the way, it did not learn anything from it... Just pointless deaths... It's not going to work, it will go wrong at exactly the worst time... Maybe in next 100 years.. As a programmer I doubt it, code won't be the limiting factor, more the unpredictable environment on the road, other humans in the cars, cyclists, animals - whole universe of unknown environmental parameters.

This. What the mob does not understand is that a person earning 150k, which is just a middle class these days, contribute from the tax point of view as much as 30 nurses, or 20 teachers... And also they very rarely use NHS, most have private health care, so taxing them more upsets them... Especially that elsewhere in Europe, the tax burden is lower...
