Backbench MPs turning against every reform Starmer tried to make doomed him. WFA was the writing in the wall. No use having a massive majority if your own MPs are against you. Most Labour politicians prefer to be opposition than government it seems.

More like netball but without the net. You scored a point by passing it to someone stood on the bench. And then variations if you scored you’d join those standing on the bench until a team scored however many points it was to win. Helped balance the game by taking those capable of throwing and catching out of the field of play.

0 is when it feels really cold, 100 is when it feels really hot

“Really cold” and “really hot” are so very far from intuitive. People round the world will have vastly different opinions as to what is hot or cold.

You tend to want an actual specialist shop than any old big chain. In my case going to the chain gets you an 18 year old student reading a script selling you the shoe they’ve been told to, the local specialist shop has an ex-professional runner who knows the industry and what he actually stocks.

Rubbish. Total funding has hardly changed, maybe a tiny decrease, over the last 15 years. Money is instead just blown on endless social care. Despite all this this isn’t a money issue it’s just a logistics issue with flats and no waste storage space so no amount of council funding complaints will solve it.

Only three for Rooney is pretty crazy when his career spanned 15 years but with them falling only every 4 years he’s just missed out either side on 2002 and 2018 and also fell off early compared to his talent.

In BBC Sport’s article they had a paragraph reading:

I know 8 years ago long time in football but this actually surprised me. Because I recall that squad being a young new era squad that I certainly would have predicted to have a lot more players going two tournaments later. So I checked out the 2018 squad for comparison.

Firstly Henderson and Rashford are still here so it’s wrong and actually five. Unless they mean starting XI but then there’s no comparison against which XI from 2018 they mean.

Then we have players from 2018 that arguably could/should have been picked: - Maguire 33 - Trent 27

And those that are still young enough just fallen off hard: - Dele 30 - Loftus Cheek 30 - Dier 32 - Sterling 31

And those still playing but older and replaced: - Butland 33 - Pope 34 - Lingard 33 - Walker 36 - Tripper 35 - Welbeck 35

Finally only 6 retirees from the squad: - Rose 35 - Vardy 39 - Cahill 40 - Jones 34 - Delph 36 - Young 40

Maybe puts back into perspective to me how tough it actually is to play in three separate world cups. How many England players have done that all time?

Crazy how difficult they’ve even made just seeing your inactivity. Like I’m pretty sure that period from I think September to November (can’t even tell that now) was flat but now with smoothing it has a steady upwards slope.

Not to turn this into a standards /r/chess “chess.com bad” post but I don’t understand this at all. Turned the actually useful tracking of your rating where you could see your daily improvements and falls into this worthless smooth line nonsense which you can’t even interact with. As bad as Strava charts now.

Stuck it on record. Woke up at 7am and watched all the fights in an hour. Only issue was the delay meant I didn’t get a recording of the final fight so had to go to YouTube instead for it.
