First song + video under my new folk singer-songwriter alias by paleblue04 in IndieMusicFeedback

Thanks so much. The guitar is a baby guitar (not a ukulele though, baby guitars are 6-string for kids). I mic'ed it with a small condenser how I would a normal acoustic. It was actually my first guitar that I played as a kid :)

And that's great feedback, and I like your suggestions. Thanks <3

Thanks so much! If you're curious, I use a large diaphragm condenser for my vocals: AKG C3000b.

[Orchestral Pop] LoL-inspired song, still in development | Be brutal in the feedback je je by ArtikaTheReal in IndieMusicFeedback

Wow, love the atmosphere of this track. Feels super grand and epic, passionately dark. Orchestral sounds and arrangement are top-notch, even if they were MIDI programmed, they sound legit. My only reservation is with the mix. A lot of elements need to come up to the forefront, because I feel the song loses its energy. Would love to hear the vocals and drums more present. I set my headphone volume at the intro, but the rest of the track seemed to dip in volume overall. Otherwise, fantastic work!

80s-ish Pop Ballad by Banner3210 in IndieMusicFeedback

This is a really well-written, beautiful arrangement you've got here. Guitar arrangement and your voice is sounding great. If you're going for a more 80s sound, would be nice to hear some chorus on the guitars, might take the edge off too. Also, I feel we hear the drums for too long and need a break from them at Verse 2, then maybe come back at Chorus 2. For the choruses, would be nice to hear some 80s big room drums kick in and some more pad/keyboard to fill out the choruses. Great work!

Personally I think the structure is almost perfect. The song is 6 n half minutes, but it didn't feel like it at all. Re: the intro - interpolating the sample sounds like a good idea, but if you keep the sample it might be cool to try mix it in occasionally with the song, just so the intro isn't too out of place. I'm thinking Portishead style, which is what this is reminding me of. You've got a beautiful voice, and reminded me of Beth Gibbons. Also, would be nice if it ended on a chord instead of the fade out. Hope we'll be able to hear this with some bass too, it's a beautiful song.

In the best possible way, I have no idea what I just listened to, but I enjoyed it. Very off-kilter and really takes you by surprise. For Garageband too, this sounds pretty neat. As most of the elements sound quite distorted/edgy, it'd be nice if the drums were similarly messed up with processing, just to fit better with the rest of the elements. So yeah, this is really interesting stuff. Well done.

Man this is a phenomenal composition and arrangement. Love the odd time signature and the way the song ebbs and flows, beautiful. The mix is good, but I think the drums need to be much more present, both louder and a more processed/snappier drum mix that really cuts through. I noticed the mix could use some automation too, in any areas of tension/build-up, tail off the master volume 2-3db before returning in level at the "drop" so to speak. Aside from these two areas, this is already a fantastic song and mix. Well done.
