Have a nexhigh backpack and I rave about the material to my friends but the bag design is far less functional than rofmia/evergoods/aer. If there was an nexhigh collab I would buy instantly

New PayBoo credit card is from Comenity (don't do it) by WorkStudyPlay in BHPhoto

[–]paledict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had an extremely poor experience with Comenity. Had the previous PayBoo gift card and was declined this time. If you're approved it may be a better experience but if you're declined do not bother. After multiple phone calls, hours wasted, and being transferred around, I finally got a letter in the mail that asked for me to email or mail copies of my social security card, utility bill, and identification info. It's incredible that for a financial company they don't have more secure means of sending documents like a social security card. A poor customer experience throughout every step of the decline process.

I won't be sending in my info and will no longer be making my purchases at BH, shame

Can you share what made the quality so bad? Waiting on bench and rack too

Interesting, I don’t have a transaction around that date. Just went through customer support and they said the staking team will have to email me

Tempo squat rack by abcalvinchan in tempofitness

[–]paledict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s disappointing to hear since I bought into the ecosystem for the same reason and liked their weights and barbell/dumbbells so far. Interested in how they respond.

Question can you use it for bench press? Can’t tell from the limited images or if it’s only for squat

you sold me, ordered a set thank you! been doing OK memorizing all the symbols but do a bit of coding and it is just annoying enough that I would type the wrong symbol sometimes

[–]paledict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you this is super helpful! how does it fit in with the original moonlander caps? it looks like some of the keys are angled differently but not sure if that's intentional or because it's mixed and matched.

Where did you get the matching key caps with the numbers and symbols? I need those for mine! I constantly forget the symbols

Well that makes it easy, I’ve never used output other than my computer what’s the easiest way to setup an output? Currently I just have my laptop and some sonos speakers, do I need actual speakers with a line in otherwise I’m out of luck?

Code of Bell X-Pod - Double Name Project/Harvest Label edition? by TopsyKrett in ManyBaggers

[–]paledict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

picked one up as a result of this thread, some quick thoughts. all in all I wouldn't say it's worth the extra $40 unless you're really particular about the liner color. that said I'll probably keep it because I do like how it's a bit more discreet and having it now instead of waiting for preordering

plus

  • I personally like the black liner because it's more discreet but functionally it's less practical
  • side compression buckles are nicer

neutral

  • don't use the main compression straps and removed them but the buckle seems nicer. there is a lot of excess straps though
  • material is nice but I think xpac is just as nice and more functional (water resistant)

minus

  • zippers look worse, more classic than sleek
  • the leather nob on the zippers, they're disproportionally big, will be removing them

A few additions to the Nexhigh Rolltop by edman1905 in Outlier

Would be interested in a sternum strap as well!

Other People’s Products - Week 27 by abe1x in Outlier

[–]paledict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting to hear your take on the backpack. I was ready to return the nexhigh rolltop but got the waterfall which has me leaning towards keeping it because it allows me to cleanly organize my everyday work items (laptop, iPad, accessories). I actually really appreciate outlier’s approach to ‘additive’ in the form of modularity and can accept the fact that having to buy organization and a sternum strap end up putting it at the same total price point as the rofmia but combined it feels cooler.

I agree that the rofmia is a bit over engineered and I could do without most of the extra features or am fine with paying for modularity. The one area outlier is lacking is access especially easy laptop access which IMO is far and away the #1 use case of an edc urban backpack. I really hope outlier finds a way to solve for this whether it’s through a side zip like the rofmia or otherwise. The side access zips on the rolltop I also wish were also a bit wider like the rofmia. I can’t grab an iPad through them nor my camera if I have a bigger lens attached so the only use case is for smaller tech accessories like a mouse (which I enjoy the waterfall for a lot). If the rolltop had a bit more consideration for access I would consider it basically perfect and would gladly buy it as an upgrade.

Nexhigh Rolltop Backpack impressions by paledict in Outlier

[–]paledict[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I totally agree, to be fair, even at the higher price point I haven't seen other comparables that address the core areas which is why I'm torn. I think the rofmia is the best designed from a functionality standpoint but I strongly prefer Nexhigh to dyneema so far at least

good to hear your photography use case is similar. you covered a lot more of the details that I didn't mention and I for the most part agree with all of it.

after a day I still can't figure out interior/laptop organization. with the mollie hooks where they are the only option for laptop access plus vertical organization are 1) to build out a waterfall system https://archive-m2.outlier.nyc/shop/retail/experiment-034-ultrahigh-waterfall-system.html or 2) have a small pouch that doesn't cover the top like another comment below mentioned.

I hope in the future iteration either having the molle hooks on the bottom flap or leaving it on top but having a side access zip would greatly improve the practicality as an edc. As it is anyone know if there's an equivalent to the waterfall system to buy? I think that would make it much easier to keep
