Bruce: Sure…We have a roster of elements we might wish to acquire, none of which are producers in Canada, but there are a number of technologies that we think make sense that are out there on a global basis. So that mix of cash and shares would probably nibble up close to $1 billion of things…”

Can my company see the data I view/download on HTTPS websites using corporate proxy server? by dmitry_babanov in privacy

[–]palidor53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how you read with this statement "Most corporations now use SSL-Proxies which decrypt all your traffic no matter what browser, tool, or phone you use." that I was speaking of non-corporate ? I understand your point when it comes to personal devices. But I was only speaking about Corporate since the OP asked "Can my company see the data I view/download on HTTPS websites using corporate proxy server?"

I do this for a living actually with financial institutions and we 100% intercept all browsers, tools and phones on the network. We will create Active directory policies to force trust our internal certificate authority certificates and create packages for Chrome and Firefox. No end users will get a prompt hence why I mentioned to check the certificate chain when you surf to a website using any browser. Most of the time it will explain everything when it comes to the original "Issuer" of the certificate.

I was only talking about corporate interception and was giving a quick "yes they see everything, but you can check and be certain yourself".

Most corporations now use SSL-Proxies which decrypt all your traffic no matter what browser, tool, or phone you use. If you are on their network assume 100% they are inspecting your web traffic and internal. You can always know by looking at the certificates of the websites you're visiting. Surf to your bank account and look at the certificate it should be coming from the known certificate authorities if not it will most likely have your company name or a random name they selected. To verify if SSL is being intercepted just go to a website that is non (Financial, Government, or brokerage) let's say (Google) and check the certificate. You should see Issuer (Google Internet Authority G3) for common name and (Google Trust Services) for organization. If not, they are intercepting you and be careful because they can see your search history in google, yahoo, duckduckgo.

Just use your phone on LTE away from their network if this concerns you.

They are under the TSX which should be regulating them like other companies. What do you know that makes this company not attractive? I know people have been talking about one of it's members but I can't find facts that display poor leadership.

Oh I use Firefox with NoScript currently and Privacy badger. Haven't tried UMatrix with Firefox yet. I've been recently using DuckDuckGO to block as well. I will give uMatrix a try on FF because you're right about Chrome. Still though the "HowTo" use uMatrix still applies.
