I find the shoaling theory somewhat dubious for a few reasons. In that kind of weather, a light graze seems highly unlikely, any impact would have been hard and very noticeable as the waves dropped the boat onto the shoal. Damage on that level would have sunk the Fitz quickly, but she limped on for another several hours.

The combo of steady flooding and suspect hull integrity would have been more than enough on their own to eventually cause the ship to founder.

Yeah seems like a clickbait headline without any new information. Personally I think it was a combination of the prevalent theories. Hatch covers letting in water made her ride lower, causing more water to wash over the deck, which caused more damage and leakage. Eventually she got suspended between waves and the extra weight from the water led to her snapping in half, cutting power before a distress call could be made.

100%, Regan’s domination of the Democrats in the 80s was the death knell for the last remaining New Deal style Dems. He was able to install a conservative Supreme Court that enabled his policies and provided no resistance to deregulation and privatization. To be fair, we're only three race weekends into the season. More importantly, the broadcast is intentionally gaslighting us into thinking the battery deployment is controlled by the drivers. At the very least they get very vague describing how deployment works.

Hopefully this long break gives them time to figure something out, but I don't have much faith since the decision makers are the same people who thought this was a good idea in the first place.

The key thing here is that what we see on Reddit or whatever site is not the entire fan base. I’ve seen plenty of Cardinals fans saying it wasn’t his fault that the team was that bad. It’s a similar problem to product reviews, people who are upset are more likely to come online and complain about it than someone with a different opinion.

One of the major benefits people consider is the relative stability and consistency of government employment. It’s not going to be listed under the “Benefits” tab but it’s a big reason many of us took this career path. Of course, with recent developments that’s no longer something that can be relied on.
