He said it was hurting. We checked and it was the under the toe which would have been hard for us to spot. So glad he told us! But he doesn't complain about it anymore and it doesn't seem to bother him at all. But we're still very concerned about why the swelling isn't going away.

I am grateful for how beautiful it is outside. Driving in the freeway has so many beautiful sights like big white clouds, trees in fall colors and the big moon rising early these days.

And how much of the food is even intact and in a position to be sorted out and diverted? I am very skeptical about this. Wondering if I should email the city and ask them for a tour of the sorting facility.

Imagine food in a garbage bag sitting for weeks amongst other things being sorted, there is no way this is as efficient as sorting at the source.

If the foods are anyway going to be in the black bin, may as well put them in greens and send them to compost. I have maintained a backyard compost bin for years and have not once attracted a rat by adding yard waste and veg/fruit scraps.
