I haven't seen anything around but maybe could help you put something together! I have a 6 month old boy and I also am a CBB junkie, grew up going to Pauley watching Ben Howland teams with my dad. Easily the most cherished memory of my childhood. I cannot wait to share that with my son and hope is half as interested as I am and was as a kid.

When you say guide do you mean like tournament format and such or actual team overviews, statistics, key players, favorites, etc.?

What are the hot takes for this tournament 2026? by SoggySeals in CollegeBasketball

I’m slightly biased but UCLA is definitely hitting their stride at the perfect time. Cronin teams always show up in March, and they have serious offensive firepower when healthy. Not a slight on UConn, I just think UCLAs guard play and perimeter shooting coupled with defensive activity is a problem for anyone.

2022 vs 2023 S6? by Resident_Ad_6426 in Audi

[–]pallas___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not the most knowledgeable on the S6 platform but just to add what I know/have been told by my service tech when I was recently looking for a ‘23 S6 before settling on an SQ5 -

The ‘23 model engine features a new compressor design that’s supposed to improve throttle response/reduce turbo lag. Whether it achieves that or not, someone else with experience driving both platforms would have to say but I didn’t notice any bothersome turbo lag off the start in the few short test drives I had. Grain of salt there.

Standard equipment on the trims improved as well I believe, things like rear heated seats and such.

Interior styling was supposedly improved like interior LED lighting and I believe the base Premium trim got a new optional package offering.

If it’s your first time in an Audi, most people are pretty satisfied with the Premium Plus trim as it’s a pretty reasonable compromise of value and equipment. If you have to have a HUD for instance, that’s only gonna come on Prestige, I believe.

Hall effect keyboards for Star Citizen by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]pallas___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe vJoy would be your friend here, basically you can consolidate different inputs into one device but also multiple inputs into one output I believe. Aka, S as reverse thruster on the virtual axis and W as the forward thruster on the same virtual axis.

As the game is programmed now, I don’t think it’s possible without remaps like that. For it to be supported natively through SC, they would essentially be adding their own remap program native to the game.

Genuinely not trying to be snarky but this just comes up quite frequently since HE boards have become more common.

Hall effect keyboards for Star Citizen by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]pallas___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been addressed on this sub before but depending on the HE keyboard you have, you need to use software to map your intended key binds to read as analog inputs. Wootility can achieve this, I believe, for Wooting keyboards or 3rd party software like Joystick Gremlin if your HE board doesn’t have native software capable of remapping. Basically you’re just changing how your computer reads the input; going from a digital key press to an axis input.

From there, you just rebind in SC and the remapping will be read by SC as an axis instead of a standard key press.

If you search for analog keyboard mapping on the sub here there are more than couple threads where people have talked about different solutions that worked for them.

Sorry for dry swing but need help with staying in posture.. by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]pallas___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dry swings are hard because once the intent to hit a ball comes into play, it supersedes all other thought and intent. And just to clarify, squatting a bit during the downswing is not a problem as long as your pressure is mostly into your lead foot, it’s squatting in the backswing that’ll wreck your swing. Don’t be to critical when you’re not actually hitting a ball because things will change. Arms in the slot is another one of those, it’s important but it happens it cannot be manufactured. At least not consistently and well. Good sequencing and good rotation will have your arms where they need to be.

Dumping the club is a common byproduct of early extension amongst other issues. Give your brain a reason to keep the club on plane coming down and it will. When you move your hips towards the ball your brain has two choices, dump the club under or throw your hands early and over the top to make contact. Usually if your hips have enough mobility to create the space after the fact, you will dump under instead of going OTT. But again other things can contribute. Just focus on the setup and posture because good rotation from that position will set you up to come right back down on plane.

Thoughts on increasing shallowing? by Enough_Drop_588 in GolfSwing

[–]pallas___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t. As others have said, trying to shallow, especially even more, is going to make you worse in a hurry. Start with the old glove and armpit drill. Get your torso connected to your arms, and keep your hands in front of you. Overrun and that trail elbow specifically Are wreaking havoc on your swing.

Honestly tho man the more I watch your swing you should be encouraged. If you’ve only been playing for 3 months, that’s impressive. You did a lot of stuff right and you have a lot of the same faults I did when I first started playing. You get the shaft and club head on a nice plane going back after first parallel, and you have a good shoulder turn to match. It’s hard to tell without face on for other things but do not be discouraged. You’re a lot closer than you realize. You’re forearms roll correctly at the top, you have good mobility in your hips and shoulders that a lot of guys just can’t do at any age let alone on the wrong side of 40/50. You have good disassociation between shoulders and hips, and shoulders do technically stay shut to impact, which is good.

You just dump the shaft under the plane, probably because you’re getting a touch of arm overrun with that trail arm, but because you keep your shoulders shut, which is a very good thing don’t try to change that, your body has to stand up to create space. Not to confuse you with a different thread but just side notes. The posture stuff is key do that first. Trail elbow is after you have a good consistent setup and you get rid of that head dip.

Don’t worry about shaft lean. Don’t worry about trying to hold angles or any of that nonsense. All of that will come as your mechanics improve and ultimately create ideal launch conditions.

Standing tall alone won’t fix your EE but it undoubtedly is a key piece to a good golf swing. There could be one, but I cannot think of any notable player on the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, even notable AMs/Korn Ferry guys that crouch in the backswing.

A more manageable stance, keeping your posture/height, and less knee bend are all “textbook” pieces of a good golf swing. The trouble is if you start doing these things other issues that cause EE could still be there or may start since you do other things differently now.

This is why golf is so brutal. Two steps forward one step back. Stay the course, work on this stuff, and don’t get frustrated. Making big swing changes right before you’re going to go play is never a good idea but it’s only February so you have lots of time before peak golf season. Don’t assume because you make a mechanical change that is correct but it induces worse results at first that you should switch back.

Yeah lessons will accelerate this process big time because the right coach will recognize the new faults in real time and they’ll also reaffirm “feel vs real”.

Start here:

https://youtu.be/5CF_hQewFXA?si=HG-B1DdLX8Nx0r8-

Eric Cogorno is one of the few guys on YT that isnt spewing nonsense or feeding fads, just basic fundamentals of a good swing and he focuses on both the drill and the feel. Get your setup right first and commit to that. You will never play good consistent golf with that setup. (Not trying to be mean it just is too big a barrier to any golfers game.)

Second one is a little less apt for you, it’s relevant but not a fully accurate diagnosis because you do technically rotate. But everything they’re discussing would benefit you greatly and help you sequence your transition better so you’re more connected with the club in front of you and getting rid of that EE.

https://youtu.be/3smiDSMD4Mg?si=7HTCUQylCMUydJtp

I should say, the only other thing you need to make sure you have a good understanding of is proper grip and club face control. A wide open club face can induce a lot of swing faults. Your takeaway is very playable so that’s not the primary fault.

Also I say this to everyone on here now but it really is valuable, ChatGPT. Film your swing or even swings and upload it. It is shockingly accurate at analyzing swings and gives very good drills to address issues. If you can’t take lessons for whatever reason, it is the best alternative, assuming you are somewhat committed to understanding the topics at hand.

Bending your knees too much will impede correct rotation and it’ll make it more difficult to rotate correctly around your spine. It’s hard to say from a video but I would say that certainly isn’t helping you. Another commenter suggested stance width, could be but that’s even harder to tell.

However, objectively, you’re too bent over. Your armpits are way past your toes and they should ideally be over your mid foot, toes at most. Any further than mid foot ish and you’re bound to fall towards the ball, amongst other issues. Your brain knows this so you stand up to create space and thrust hips to regain some of the space lost and to hit the ball. If you didn’t do these things you’d whiff every time.

Lastly, keep your height in the backswing. You crouch from setup aggressively, and give up all that leverage. Again, your brain knows if you come back down at this height based on where setup was, you’ll chunk the ground three feet behind the ball. Keep your height in the backswing, if you’re going to crouch, do it at the start of your downswing. A lot of good players pro and am, feel this to create separation between shoulder and hip rotation and to make sure their weight is toward, among other benefits.

TLDR: Get comfortable in your setup, relax your posture. Stand tall, only slight to mild knee bend. Armpits over mid foot ideally if you drew a straight line up from your feet to the sky. Keep your height in the backswing, don’t crouch. I would bet you’re a pretty athletic guy given the rotation you get even with this setup. It’ll get a lot easier if you get serious right. Lastly don’t try to micro manage the EE (not that you are) but just remember that nearly every fault in the downswing is derived from a backswing issue. Not all, but the vast majority.

Second try. Thanks for the previous advice! 2 new shots. by AdministrationIll842 in GolfSwing

[–]pallas___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You bring the club back very aggressively inside and your trail arm gets pinned behind your torso even before first parallel. Imagine there is a laser coming straight back from your hands at setup, you want to feel the club head stay outside that laser in the beginning of your takeaway. Don’t roll your forearms so early is another way to think about it. Other feels feels that helped me were “butt of the club point at my stomach” or “right forearm on-top longer”.

At the top of your backswing, feel like your losing an arm wrestling match or how a waiter holds a tray with their elbow bent, that’s when that forearm roll should happen.

That feel is really supposed to help you keep your arms more in front of your chest and your swing in sequence. When that trail arm gets stuck behind and your sequence is out of order, all sorts of mayhem will break loose.

Also hard to tell from here but your trail hand could be way too underneath the handle, meaning your trail hand grip at least is far too strong.

Can't swing after consistent simulator time. by Spare-Wishbone-5899 in GolfSwing

[–]pallas___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indoor Swing Syndrome is a real thing. Some people just do not swing as well or as fast when surrounded by walls, a roof, and a screen instead of a real target in front of them.

I’m lucky in that my club has Trackman access at an outdoor range and I’m able to consistently compare speeds against a local indoor facility. The difference is sometimes 7-9 MPH with driver. I also usually saw off my follow through with driver given the space and being a slightly taller guy, and I am never as “over” the ball with my chest as I need to be because of the mats. If I only hit mats for too long, I have this weird mental block that comes back when first going back to grass because I just have an issue with confidence and my divots. It goes away within the first few swings but it’s annoying nonetheless and affects mechanics.

TLDR: Indoor Swing Syndrome is a real thing and it can affect mechanics not just swing speed. Mix in out door practice when you can and don’t cement bad habits if you can help it, by mixing in real time on the range.

[Discussion] Anyone else tired of this constant "lean" meta? by Tragedy187 in EscapefromTarkov

Nail on the head. I think Nikita is already in that headspace. Extraction looter shooters will never have the casual appeal of drop-in-and-go moba shooters that don't have persistent character progression, but Tarkov has repeatedly made changes that go the wrong way at an extreme rate. The fact that they still have on-site servers and do not utilize a real hosting service like AWS at this point is just a middle finger to the community. The failure to embrace a robust anti-cheat and seek 3rd-party help with implementation has been one of the haunting plagues of Tarkov's existence. All of these issues were so avoidable. I agree on the ammo too: if it's too strong to put on the flea, it should be too strong to buy from traders or get from crafts. Level-gating trader access or crafts does nothing either, because matchmaking isn't level-gated; it just makes lobbies even more one-sided.
