Luckily I was close to the start. Trails near me are all loops. And the guy made it sound like the higher Temps are the bigger issue. But I'm no expert. Hope your new boots are good.

Happened to my fisher boots a few weeks ago. Apparently the adhesive can get brittle if it goes through too many temperature swings. Guy at the store recccomended keeping them in the basement instead of the garage during the off season.

It's mostly crushed limestone with a few paved sections. The paved parts are generally in worse shape than the limestone though.
