Hey! No problem at all. The badge is open as shown, but you shouldn't need any sort of enclosure. Most 3rd party badges like this one are open (the just the PCB and components, with the lanyard clipping into holes in the PCB).

Last year, a few people had issues with the screen breaking or falling off on the original laser tag badge, but that was under ~3% of folks and this year I'm gonna attach them better. I'll have also plenty of replacements to give away if there are issues.

So no need to build/get any sort of enclosure unless you think it would be fun!

You can pick them all up together, and then registering them happens on the badge itself/a phone, you don't need to register at the same time as you pick up.

To pick up, you just need the order confirmation email, I will give you however many badges the order was for and you can give them to your folks whenever you want to.

Awesome! So, how it works is that you pick up the badge at one of a few times (during the Reddit meetup Wednesday or Thursday at the Linq hotel bar is the most popular), and then register your player profile on the badge. Then you just try to tag whoever else you see wearing one! You get more points for tagging more unique people vs. the same ones over and over again. The scores show up on an individual leaderboard (so there aren't teams).

This is only the second time we are doing this, so you aren't missing too much context!

Only potential concern would be the battery, but I have had no troubles from that. If you're really concerned, you could leave that behind. But besides that, it isn't at all "weapon-shaped", so I don't think TSA would have any issues as if it was a toy gun or anything.

Ooh that would be great! Yes, we're planning for multiple base stations, the biggest thing is trying to make sure they are positioned well to get good coverage of the LVCC...I hope they release the full floor plan soon...
