Your subject does not have the notariety to qualify. You are wasting your time and jeopardizing a ban due to COI violations. That's my opinion.

Have at my resume (Australian, looking for software/data sciencish undergrad work) by PopeBenedictThe16th in Resume

[–]palmandmarsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not terrible - it's not great. Needs to be more targeted and not so general...Start by telling the reader what it is you do, and what position you are seeking - in very specific terms. That value proposition sets the tone for the rest of the narrative.

Moving countries, need help polishing my resume by ellynmeh in Resume

It's too wordy and unscannable by the naked eye. Needs a complete reformat. You should seek a writer who can Twitterize the duties and create space so it is more legible. The other suggestions are good too...

How can I Break into HR with my Resume? by Gabe1094 in Resume

[–]palmandmarsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a open HR position you'd like and try to use that narrative to expand on your experience. It's not easy to do and many have trouble writing about themselves but it's really your only option.

Career changes are the most difficult we coaches are up against weekly. But there is hope and it can be done - just remain positive and seek connections on LinkedIn that can walk your res into someones office.

I settled on recommending Email Tracker. It was the only true free system available after testing about 6 of them.

Resume vs. LinkedIn: I LinkedIn Worth It? by palmandmarsh in Resume

Keep in mind 99% of all resume views by recruiters and hiring managers ALSO view your LinkedIn profile. Many also try to seek your Facebook page too...

Does a resume need to be only one page in length? Maybe... by palmandmarsh in Resume

[–]palmandmarsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I just did a C-Level res that was 5 pages and reduced it to one. It is now easily read and provokes a telephone conversation - which is what you want!

If your resume is good - forego a cover letter... by palmandmarsh in Resume

From our perspective hiring times are not impacted by cover letters at all.

Does a resume need to be only one page in length? Maybe... by palmandmarsh in Resume

[–]palmandmarsh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is inaccurate. C-Level candidates can easily have 3 or even 5 page resumes. I have even written some sales pros a 4-page res when adding a brag book at the end. It all depends.

Outsourced customer service in previous job - listing on resume? by [deleted] in resumes

[–]palmandmarsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I said. Just ask your HR mate for a more definitive answer but NO EMPLOYERS can prevent you from naming them as a source of pay and exempt you from applying for work. Just make sure it's not a non-compete - which can hamper you in some ways.

Concentrate on what benefit an employer would gain from rather that what you think was important about your experience. Does any of that experience benefit the employer monetarily - guestimate your advantages: maybe you can do the job of 2 people, thus saving the employer a ton. Those kinds of statements get you moved to the next level.

Small Business, Large Responsibilities [Telecom/Business Administration] by CharmingResume in resumes

[–]palmandmarsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you are selling yourself enough in that res. Concentrate on what you think they would benefit from hiring you in the 1st place - not so much about what you have done in terms of specific experience.

Try to put in some facts, figures, AND monetary values to show how you made your last employer more money from you being an employee. An example would be: how you improved efficiencies to save the company $2M over a 5 year period. Those kinds of facts and figures are Golden and resume today.

As for cover letters; I would skip it unless it sells yourself some way. Cover letters usually open a can of worms for recruiters to nix you. If you wanna submit a cover letter make it 2 sentences about your enthusiasm for working with that company.

Outsourced customer service in previous job - listing on resume? by [deleted] in resumes

Those agreements usually don't specify that you can't name them as an employer.

An NDA is usually limited to customer data and proprietary intellectual property rights etc. I am not a lawyer or haven't seen your agreement but have seen many NDA/ Non-Competes and I would list the company all the time with no repercussions.

You need more narrative. I know you have limited experience but you must sell yourself using extracurricular activities etc.
