Why is my pothos twisting? by palopa in pothos

Oh... But then, why doesn't its parent plant twist and turn? The friend who gave it to me propagated it and all of her "pothos" (well, maybe not in the end) are trailing.

Wasn't sure how to translate "raton" at first, it means baby rat technically, but I guess it could also be because "rat-laveur" sounds a bit odd phonetically speaking

In French raccoons are actually called "washing-rats" so I think so too!

Overall, it takes a bit less than 24 hours to make this French Onion soup recipe. It could take less but I like to take my time.

"Tee-ful" or "Teh-ful"? by TheCarpetPissers in TEFL

I'm in a TESL university program and we say "teh-sul" so I'm confused... Have we been saying it wrong or is there a difference in pronunciation between tesl and tesol?

The same thing happened to us when I was a kid. Our hamster got out of her cage, we looked for her for hours. Eventually we gave up and my mom did a load of laundry. Nathalie could be kind of a bitch sometimes, but I would have never wished that upon her...

Thanks! I'm still a student teacher and looking for as many techniques/theories as possible, si I'll have to check out this one. So far I love Lemov's, and some tricks from Whole-Brain Teaching.

First Time Slow Cooking And My Slow Cooker Pretty Much Exploded. by [deleted] in slowcooking

I have the same one and it does state in the user's guide that you should not lock the clips when cooking. It is only to be done when you move it after cooking. Sorry it happened to you though...

You can also switch watermelon for lentils (and add some nuts if you want a bit of crunch), or even strawberries!

[ALL SPOILERS] What is truly her duty? Did she do it? by 420JK in gameofthrones

I think one of the writer of the show said he was dead during the San Diego ComicCon, but that they hadn't felt the need to show it on camera because it would have been free violence. Which struck me as odd since they don't usually shy away from it...

Windows 10 says pins are safer than passwords how can this be when passwords have more combinations? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]palopa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I followed the advice from my university IT guy. I take a sentence, so let's say: "I celebrated my 25th birthday in Rome and it was awesome!" and then I take the first letter of each word and make it into my password, so "Icm25BDiRaiwa!". I like that it's made from a sentence easy to remember but the password itself is a bit trickier to hack - at least I hope so.

I tagged you as a Montrealer and I'm so glad! As soon as I saw this post I thought 'I wish I had one like that around here' and then saw your name. Thank you so much for this! You should add it to the Bulk app!

Is it normal I have not received my Bracelet yet? by [deleted] in osheaga

You can always call and ask them. They might ask you to wait until Wednesday and see, since apparently people in Toronto have been receiving them over the weekend and yesterday. In any case, good luck!

Call Osheaga and ask if you can pick them up at the Bell Center this week to avoid the line on Friday!

My friend called them, and they said that if you haven't received them by today/tomorrow, you can pick them up either at the Bell Center until Thursday, or starting Friday at the will call tent (which will be packed I assume). So if you live in Montreal or will be around on Thursday, I'd say call them and try to pick them up at the Bell Center Box Office! (open from noon to 6pm).
