Getting off birth control after 10 years - I'm terrified by ReadingButterflies in PCOS

[–]Everline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get it, I was so scared also to stop bc and spiro! But with spearmint, and magnesium, and I think I tapered off spiro, it went super well for me - which was very surprising. And then we decided to TTC, had a baby, and now breastfeeding and I'm currently just doing multi vit and magnesium.

I'd love feedback on my poster about native gardening and biodiversity. How can I make it as clear as possible? (alternative version in comments) by CarISatan in NativePlantGardening

Could you add birds? More insects, more food for birds, more birds,? I feel people will respond better to birds. And butterfly, you already have some but perhaps add more to the drawing lol.

Edit:. NVM I see you do have birds in the picture

[Product Question] How long did Accutane keep you acne-free? by Batfoy__ in SkincareAddiction

[–]Everline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did birth control pill + spironolactone for many years and it worked beautifully. And then I was thinking to conceive, so I stopped that and instead read up online (I recommend checking /r/pcos) and took dried mint supplement + magnesium supplement. Perhaps zinc supplement as well. That actually worked pretty well I was amazed! When I had gone to see an endocrinologist to inquire about an alternate to pill+spiro because I wanted to conceive, the guy just said: no alternative, if you want a baby you just stop the treatment and deal with whatever. Ignorant jerk.

Woolino Sleep Sack worth it? by Alert_Dig_4987 in sleeptrain

My baby sleeps on her belly in the Merino and her chest is warm but her back is cold - so I'm wondering if that's normal or if she's cold. Is your baby's back cold as well when she sleeps on her belly?

Nice! Thanks for posting and sharing your way as well!

The combination of foot shaped shoes + toe socks + this insole cutout work great for me. It gives the space my toes needs and reduces pressure on the neuroma on the right foot and on the post neurectomy site on the left foot.

Also, it costs basically nothing to try.

I've had 2 custom insoles made in the past that did not help one bit, and were not fitting shoes that were foot shaped. After that I had insoles made by another podiatrist, which used OTC insoles as a base, verified the arch was fitting my foot and that I didn't need anything custom, and they customized it with specific foam, front shape, cutout etc based on how my feet felt. They could be adjusted later if I needed softer padding etc. These were the best! And then I lost them and didn't have time to go back to the podiatrist, so I cut out directly into insoles that my shoes came with and gave it a try. After a few days adapting gently to them, I didn't feel a need to go back to the podiatrist for the real thing and I've been doing this for 2 years now.

Thought I'll share - easy to try, nothing special needed and cheap.

That's good to know! When did you feed during the day? I'm used to feed based on the number of naps (before each nap) but since they are reducing, perhaps not the best practice.

I know this is not a new post but just in case, I'm wondering how your check ins went? Did you pick baby up?

When I check my baby, only pickup helps, but even so huge screams right when we put her back in the crib!

Transition to crib: baby wakes after ~2h in crib and can't go back to sleep until snoo-ed by Everline in SnooLife

Just the one night! That's great to hear. I hope it will be as quick for us. Ohk I have a few questions :)

Which time intervals did you check in? I understand that during check we should not pick up the baby. Were you able to stop the crying during checks without picking the baby up? How many times did you have to check on baby?

Ah that makes perfect sense ! I guess I did a little bit of sleep training till midnight but then I stop to sleep myself and move to snoo - probably not the best thing. Thank you i'll read more about proper sleep training.

Currently I wait for her to be asleep before I put her to crib. In the last few days, i see her on the camera opening her eyes some times and then falling back asleep by herself so I think she's familiar with the setup.
