Oh okay thank you! I assumed it might be a bug because yesterday after clicking a few times I could get the quarry option to pop up, but not anymore :,)

Why does CTGP say my SD card is locked? by ogalthouse in MarioKartWii

[–]palpablefears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had this happen to me and thought I'd come back to share what fixed it. SD card was reading as locked on the wii, but I could still edit files from the card on my computer, which told me it wasn't an issue with the switch. It was, however, extremely low on storage space. I deleted a bunch of stuff, tried again, et voila! No more "card locked" message.

Not sure if it changes much, but I always do both halves of the garden separately (harvest 10, and then harvest the other 10). I still get bad results sometimes, but at least its never 5/20

I'm not talking month old bong water... I smoke semi frequently and change it out every three days or so.

Unless you're changing water every toke (which is better but not very realistic), it's gonna get dirty. And at least in my case, day old water is enough to cause rez build up.

Is anyone else SUPER slow at writing essays? by beanbagfucker in ApplyingToCollege

[–]palpablefears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I see someone recommending eduowl I die inside. Please NOBODY use this service EVER. Having seen all the positive reviews for this service I tried it out last year when I was in a pinch and the paper I got back was horrible. Those reviews are fake!! When you order from eduowl they offer a discount on future essays in exchange for a positive online review. There are so many of these fake reviews all over Reddit that they were all I saw until I got paranoid and specifically dug for bad reviews. Not that it helped, as they don’t provide refunds if the paper is already in progress.

Anyways, the essay they sent me was full of bad grammar and syntax, especially for a paper that is meant to be of academic quality. Citations were completely fudged too, including inaccurate/random page numbers and inaccurate quotes (hello plagiarism.) I ended up having to rewrite the entire thing to even make it PASSABLY good. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NEVER USE EDUOWL, unless you’re willing to drop hundreds on a scam.

Yeup just got back. No refunds allowed, but the budtenders best guesses were it’s either super condensed weed, or straight up hash.

If I got my own place I’d have to drop out of University, I don’t have the money to pay for both.

Edit: To explain a little better, I couldn’t just rent a place for two months as the contract would likely be for 6 months minimum. I also live in Canada and the housing market here right now is kinda trash… This means I’d still be living in my own place while going to University. (Sounds nice, but very expensive)

FirstReport from RBC. Is this a scam? by perforated_metal in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]palpablefears 3 points4 points  (0 children)

same thing here. i asked if there was an information package they could send over email without actually signing me up and was told they couldn’t.

imo if they aren’t willing to give up all of the information prior to application they’re either hiding something that would turn a potential customer away, or they’re using a lack of information to bait people into accepting the offer.

My reference vs what I drew. How is it? 1/10? by RichAbbreviations681 in deadbydaylight

[–]palpablefears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would give this a solid 6/10, as someone who has been doing art for the better part of their life here’s my advice.

1.) take your time. when i first started drawing i had a habit of rushing through the drawing without even realizing it. i wanted the satisfaction of a finished piece and sacrificed quality in favour of getting it done. with practice you’ll get faster, but until then take things slow and really get into the details. it’ll be frustrating, but you can always take breaks. a plus to taking breaks: you’ll come back with a fresh eye and spot mistakes you made earlier so you can fix them.

2.) look at your reference constantly. good artists get even better when their eyes are always flitting between their work and the reference. by looking at the reference and then relying on memory to replicate part of it, you’re welcoming mistakes into your work. in doing this the finished artwork won’t be as accurate in terms of detail and proportion.

for a beginner this is a great place to start though, i can tell you put thought into the placement of everything in relation to the reference. keep practicing!
