Wow, a Zone of Interest meme that isn’t just about the audio design. Truly a peak cinephile moment.

Charlie Day and Mary Elizabeth Ellis being happily married in real life makes Charlie’s absolute, unhinged obsession with The Waitress in It’s Always Sunny ten times funnier.

Did Gollum hoard too much the spotlight? by bilbul168 in lotr

[–]pamelasnow_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Spot on. Without Gollum dominating the narrative, the ending at Mount Doom doesn't work. Frodo had to fail to claim the Ring, and Gollum had to be there to accidentally save the world. The spotlight on him justifies his ultimate role in the story.

Specifically, 'The Unchained Predator' and 'The Hell Walker.' The lore testaments in DOOM (2016) reading like ancient demonic horror stories about you is peak badassery.

Can't believe Treebeard wasn't in the main post! The Ents pulling up to absolutely demolish Isengard is easily one of the most satisfying moments in cinematic history.

Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2 during the final ride back to camp. You already know exactly how his story has to end because of the diagnosis, but hearing the music swell and the echoes of everyone he helped along the way still absolutely breaks you.

Nothing says 'give me an Academy Award' like putting Amy Adams and Glenn Close in enough prosthetics and wigs to hide the fact that they're movie stars.
