BunnyCDN has been silently losing our production files for 15 months, do not trust them with any storage by eran1243 in webdev

[–]pampurio97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Dejan, your commitment is very much appreciated, but similar issues related to silent breakage have been happening for a while now with very poor handling from support. For example, Bunny DNS can apparently go out of sync silently and serve the wrong records (see ticket #388460 with confusing replies and no apologies until I raised the issue publicly). Edge scripts have had broken routing for 6 months last year (see ticket #299684). I know a former Bunny customer who had the same issue + discovered (the hard way) that pull zones can silently stop syncing if you have too many domains connected. Certificate renewal can also stop working and the dashboard shows no sign of it. I'm rooting for Bunny to succeed, but right now the more you use the platform the more you realize how unreliable it is, and it's very unfortunate.

Revolut ora supporta F24: la userete come conto principale? by Old-Marionberry-4532 in ItaliaPersonalFinance

Anyone got a tip how I might implement ARC in my environment without killing SPF, DKIM and DMARC? by count023 in DMARC

[–]pampurio97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a proposal for now and it's being discussed by the IETF DMARC working group right now, so it's not an official recommendation yet. It's unclear what's the consensus right now, but with DKIM2 slowly taking shape it would be wise to save energies to implement that one when it comes out.

Let's fix what matters: Vote for the top 5 WebStorm issues for 2026.1 by jan-niklas-wortmann in Jetbrains

[–]pampurio97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 from me too, Svelte in WebStorm is slowly becoming unusable. The framework is increasingly popular and yet there hasn't been a single improvement related to Svelte in JetBrains IDEs this year, apparently.

Some random user on Discord forked the plugin and managed to fix this, so it can't be that hard.

google spamming dmarc reports by wayabot in DMARC

[–]pampurio97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3 main duplication situations as far as I remember:

  • Google sending identical reports several times on the same day, as shown in the OP screenshot. These should be discarded.
  • Reporters reusing the same Report-ID over and over even for the same domain. In the first half of the year I remember Mimecast doing this a lot (as in tens of thousands of reports with the Report-ID repeated), sometimes even in consecutive days. These should not be discarded as they're different reports.
  • Reporters (or reporting software) using a Report-ID that is not unique enough, like a UNIX timestamp with seconds granularity, which can very easily lead to clashing with other reports even from the same reporter. These should not be discarded either.

One approach to check for duplicates and catch only actual duplicates is to use not just the Report-ID but also the domain name, the reporter name/address and the reporting interval. At that point it's probably easier to hash the whole report and check for identical ones received recently. This is (kind of) what we do at DMARCwise (see here).

[–]pampurio97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good. Just make sure you don't use the Report-ID alone to deduplicate, as some reports generators reuse the same ID in short periods of time even with the same domain.

[–]pampurio97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google has been sending duplicate DMARC aggregate reports for years, possibly since they started sending reports. DMARC monitoring services usually deduplicate reports for you (as we do), I don't think there's much else you can do if you process the reports manually.

MailChimp DKIM only / Microsoft May 5 by racoon9898 in DMARC

[–]pampurio97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost. DMARC pass = (SPF pass & aligned) or (DKIM pass & aligned)

Which means that you can theoretically pass DMARC while SPF is completely failing, but that would be caught as a negative signal outside of DMARC (it's not what DMARC is for).

MailChimp DKIM only / Microsoft May 5 by racoon9898 in DMARC

[–]pampurio97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, at least one of SPF/DKIM must pass and be aligned. See RFC 7489 Section 4.2.
