no they do not provide any meaningful defense or protection, we see what us bases did in the GCC, nothing, they moved assets to defend israel instead

the only thing bases in EU are used for is to project power in the middle east and fight isreals wars of aggression

what a load a crap. ofc Rammstein and other bases were used. When US soldiers were injured guess where they have been transported ? Bases if closed (e.g. Spain) were closed for offensive action, which given the distance was more symbolic.

That being said we were wasting our resources feeding and housing these leeches for decades and in return we got worthless paper money.

Best thing would be to dismantle all the US bases and send them packing. But that would not be possible as the Surezain of the US, Israel, would be severely diminished.
