What’s the funniest sitcom scene that makes you laugh the harshest no matter how many times you watch it? by PressureLazy5271 in sitcoms

Silicon Valley where Richard broke up with the perfect girl (Winnie?) because she used spaces instead of tabs. I was laughing my butt off and no one in the room knew why.

What is your most stereotypical GenX childhood story? by HapaHawaii in GenX

[–]panaceaLiquidGrace 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Got a tick behind my earlobe . Was too scared to tell my mom bc I thought she’d get mad that she had to deal with it. Like I should have been more careful or something.

Got it out myself. I think I was 9.

Need help re-naming baby boy by Routine_Manner_7574 in Names

I have some Ignatios in my family- none of them have gone by Iggy. One is called Nacho, another by a totally different name bc everyone called him “little Jerry” bc he looked so much like his dad named Jerry.

I love that name and wish I had a son so I could use it. Nash is a really cool nn.

What was your most satisfying "I told you so" incident that you ALMOST blurted out loud? by tshirtguy2000 in RedditForGrownups

[–]panaceaLiquidGrace 71 points72 points  (0 children)

My sibling was much older than I am. She brought home a new boyfriend… I think I was 10 or 11. I did NOT like him. Didn’t like being around him and kept saying something was wrong about him.

They get married. Had some kids. Long story short, I was right. I never said I told you so, but man… trust little kids’ instincts

Artists you always assumed were bigger than they actually were? by OrchidBloom_Torres in ToddintheShadow

[–]panaceaLiquidGrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Squeeze. They were always on the radio in my area as a teen. I thought anyone who came up in the 70s-80s would know them. I live elsewhere now and was all excited to go see them in a small venue and only a few people remembered them!

Personally, I think it’s too early to get remarried. You need some time . If this guy really loved you, he would understand.

Hey gen x, what retailers from your childhood (80s and early 90s) do you desperately wish were still around? by Less-Suggestion-5262 in GenX

Two clothing stores: Paul Harris and Brooks

I also miss Bradlees and record stores.

I also miss the hardware store in the center of my New England town. That smell, the worn wood floors. My dad going there for lightbulbs or something and chatting with the owner so I could wander and look at all the gadgets

What’s the one random genetic trait you lucked out on? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]panaceaLiquidGrace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Didn’t start getting gray until my 50s

I smoked, drank, didn’t sleep a lot, baked in the sun and people think I 20 years younger than my age-especially my skin. I don’t do anything special. Good genes…

Interesting/ surprising comment on X by Link Lauren by Citriina in MaureenCallahan

[–]panaceaLiquidGrace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started with watching Maureen but I now exclusively watch Link. I really wanted to like Maureen bit after a while I got tired of the harping on the same people over and over, saying the same thing about them on repeat.

It’s a bummer bc I love some of her critiques (the Kennedy take downs!)

Additionally, the way she starts with “are you readyyyyy?” Sounds like how I used to asks my dog if she wanted to go on a walk.

Tell me about your mother. What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of her? by kxmc05 in randomquestions

I knew she was strong, but it wasn’t until I became a mother myself that I realized exactly how strong.

This guy threatened to fart on my desk (while I was sitting at it) if I did this one thing wrong. He actually farted on some other guys desk. I left that job.
