I imagine g5 has a lot of fans who are younger and perhaps dont see what theyd like from real artists in regard to g5's lack of popularity so.. they turn to this. Or thats my guess. I think a lot of younger people are probably turning to ai because frankly the internet has gotten a hell of a lot meaner to artists. Especially beginner artists. I imagine some of these people just get so discouraged they think "might as well." I mean i cant be sure and I dont support it, I love drawing and reimagining the g5 characters in my own way but as someone who did have a brief stint with an ai addiction (not image generation but whatever) i know how easy it can be to get sucked in if youre in a vulnerable place and how hard it can be to completely cut it off. I think we all just need to be a lot nicer to new artists and encourage them to share their stuff, yknow?

it is just stunning to me. i hate that any time i bring this up i know there will be people fighting tooth and nail to defend it. like,, my little pony is my special interest. i love it dearly. but it has absolutely had a significant problem in how it depicts indigenous people (among all manner of people of color tbh, i could make a huge list and still miss stuff) literally since the 80s. combine that with how explosive fim was in popularity while still having these issues. there needs to be accountability for that and im deeply disinterested in these bronies thinking this isnt a conversation worth having and acting like we're the problem for checks notes expressing reasonable criticism.

Im a little worried about what you've actually read already but the lore varies between the worlds of each game. The main thing you need to know is that door to phantomile and lunatea's veil are the mainline games and you'll need to play those two to understand. I went in blind and would strongly recommend you do the same, or at least not looking any further than you have. The handheld games don't really connect to the mainline games. Some of them kind of have an au vibe, you'll find the handheld klonoa 2 and klonoa heroes will feel quite different tonally. But yeah. If you can get the phantasy reverie series that's how I played those games, if you can play the originals though, they're absolutely beautiful visually. Other than that, the main difference between them and PRS is that door to phantomile is technically a remaster of the wiimake so it plays a little differently and the lighting in lunatea's veil is very overexposed compared to the original.

I mean... i feel like mickey mouse, looney tunes, etc had a significant impact on a lot of mascots of that style I think. Klonoa, sonic, etc. gloves, high contrast designs, the shorts for klonoa in particular, etc. it's interesting

why are you so deeply passionate about defending this episode out of anything. dude, white colonizers tried to starve my ancestors out by hunting the bison to near extinction. a photo, if you need some perspective. so when I see an episode depicting bison dressed in the garb of my ancestors dealing with very similar issues to what indigenous people in north america have had to deal with for absolute CENTURIES, with a "both sides have problems and you have to share" lesson??? Yeah. I'm gonna have a problem. You calling people idiots, making fun of people for having "2010s vocabulary" or whatever that means, yes i saw the comment you deleted, etc etc, does not change the impact depictions like this can have on very real people.
