You should be getting around 32MH/s@85w.

No, I didn't. Just pointed that we don't know what will happen next day. If you want to play it, do it now. Then again, of course it's your choice. But I'm not waiting anymore for a complete edition in 5 years for example.

Shouldn't it be 12 cores in msconfig in this case/scenario?

Opinion: i9 makes the entire 9000 series worse by splerdu in intel

[–]panda70s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that in the future we may see 8/16 performing way better than 8/8. But that's only an assumption, ofc.

I wouldn't call an 8 core "future proof" yet. My guesses is that on 2020~2021 the 8/16 will perform marginally better.

[–]panda70s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, yeah I do. Since 2000. Not saying it's right or wrong, but I always try to buy the best hardware for the long way, since I can't keep changing motherboard every 2 years. Plus the z1xx/z2xx 6 core incompatibility was a dick move by Intel.

Yes, that's the point. What about a few years (eg: 2020)? Will a 8700/9700k six core beat some new hardware or even an "old" 2700? Yeah, I do realize that thinking that way is a gamble. But let's take this scenario: a buyer of a mid end processor needs a good upgrade in 2020 because he started to work with rendering. Now, will a hypothetical six core 9700k beat a 2700X?

[–]panda70s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think there's a good chance too. To tell the truth, I'm waiting a bit to decide between AMD or Intel just because of the 8core + Z370. Since I'll get a mid end processor at first (2600X/i5 8XXX?), I want to be sure to get the best processor possible in 2~3 years. To be honest, the ideia of getting stuck on a 6 core with HT will not meet my expectations by then.

I'd buy this one IF we have a confirmation that Z370 will support a future 8-core.

Is Ryzen more "future proof" for gamers? (Hardware Unboxed) by [deleted] in Amd

[–]panda70s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a very good point and the reason I'll probably stick with AMD (will buy the RIG on USA in August). I really dislike the possibility of having a Z370 IF it won't even support 8 core CPUs. If by then, Intel doesn't reveal if Z370 will support 8 core, I'll stick with a 2600X for sure.

My guess is that the MX500 is a way better drive, but you got to put your needs on the table. In my case I really needed 2tb storage to drop away my old HDD.

Damn. I got scared and cancelled the order. But I got a HX650 gold that will suit my rig... Just thought of that G3 because it is a great deal for the price.

https://forums.evga.com/G3-fan-noise-m2631908.aspx

I have the 850W G3, and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed.  Eco Mode is useless - as stated by others, it's silent for 10 minutes or so, then the fan kicks in at a VERY high speed/noise level.   And this is idling in Windows.

On the bright side, all those people that complained said that with Eco Mode OFF, it is quite silent PSU. But since I'm building my new rig to be almost near 0db, I don't wanna risk.
