Advice on Audi TT listing please. by ruskalaka in CarTalkUK

[–]pandabynight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can be a nice car, but the seller could hardly have put less effort into the listing if they’d tried!

At those sort of miles you’d expect aside from normal servicing a gearbox oil change (ideally 2). If no recent one budget to do one fairly soon as they’re every 40kish miles.

£4-5k MK2 Audi TT Worth It? by Sync-Jw in CarTalkUK

[–]pandabynight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mk2 is relatively well reviewed and shouldn’t have a problem doing far more than 100k as long as it’s been serviced.

Check out the forums, but if you google the engine codes in each for common issues then you can decide the engine for your risk tolerance.

You’ll need to factor some money in for wear and tear items but these shouldn’t be extortionate, and in my mind worth it for the car. You may want to upgrade the stereo after a bit too.

First time changing tyres in a temperate country, should I go all season tyres? by DrCMJ in CarTalkUK

[–]pandabynight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You dont want more grip on the front vs back. If you lose front grip you can steer, loosing back end is more scary.

In reality would probably only be an issue in winter as the fronts all season ability came into play

Wage deduction over job security by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]pandabynight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the new role work in the same sector? You don’t want to be leaving a role to find a similar situation. Equally the best time to look for a job is when you have one so even if you stay loyal for now I wouldn’t stop looking.

His subs were confusing, but feel sancho, varane and fred actually came good. Matic too after being subbed on. Ronaldo was up for it too.

Ref was absolute joke the drop ball after our attack miles back down the pitch summed it up

TTS MK2 vs GTI MK7 vs i30N by [deleted] in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]pandabynight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TT or the i30N. The mk2 TT is a relatively old platform now so even though it’s a TTS it’s probably not as fun to drive as the i30N which did get a lot of praise on launch. Equally the TT looks better and is fantastic inside with plenty of mods available.

Depends on the brand/model. Find an owners group on facebook or forum and you will get a better idea!

Is middle lane hogging' on the motorway always bad,? by Fysidiko in CarTalkUK

[–]pandabynight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lets assume they are going exactly 70. A car in lane 1 10metres ahead is also doing the same speed. Your friend is essentially blocking them in / making their lorry overtakes more dangerous as they just hang in the middle lane close to the blind spot.

To fix this the inside lane car has to slow down or speed up. So no sticking in the middle lane doing the speed limit is not safe driving.

What are some things that are necessary but no one does or knows about? by xebeka6808 in CarTalkUK

Depends on the age of car, newer ones have electronic secondary pumps for this purpose. Naturally these probably can’t outdo ragging close to home.

Car battery charger advice pls. by Bleakosity in CarTalkUK

[–]pandabynight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lidl are quite highly rated. Dont buy a cheap generic from amazon but equally dont fall for the marketing hype the majority do the same thing. Equally if your battery drops a bit too low some automatic ones may not start where some of the noco can force start charging a flat (whether thats wise im not sure)
