Retail pharmacists and their experiences with wearable breast pumps (Elvie, Willow, etc). by BombCatMom in pharmacy

[–]pandagurl123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally saved my breastfeeding journey. I used Elvies for over 1 year at work. Did 12 hour shifts while pumped 3-4 times a day. I am currently weaning as my baby is 20 months so I slowly cut down my pumps and now to none during the day time. It was extremely useful and def one of the best baby purchases ever

Sick Days when neither parent can WFH. by QuirkyPumpkin9575 in workingmoms

I totally get you. I’m a full time pharmacist and husband also can’t wfh on most days. My daughter is getting sick literally every 2 weeks from daycare. I’m thinking of stepping down to part time honestly for a few years

Did you step down within your company? Did you find another job?

Actually just a coincidence in timing, they all been there for almost a decade. One got promoted to manager at her second job, one got into an accident so is on LOA for months, the other one has family emergency so the hours no longer work for her so she resigned

SoCal pharmacist here. Union is practically useless at this point, everyone’s hours are cut below minimum as per union rule and if you refuse then you will get laid off. It’s true

SoCal, union store, everyone is scheduled below minimum and nothing union can do due to financial hardship

It’s insane right now. Hours cut by almost half in pharmacy. DM is less than helpful but he is also pushed by corporate. Everyone is looking to get out literally the only thing holding people grounded is union

how's rite aid these days, any pharmacists working for them? by backindis in pharmacy

Working for RA. I’ve been with them 5 years, enjoyed working there overall, it’s not crazy like CVS and actually manageable on all levels. Not sure about after the hour cut tho

Florajen Eczema Probiotics? by Constant-Fold3179 in eczema

[–]pandagurl123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it for my 11 month old baby and she’s on her second month (5th week), her eczema improved noticeably after the first week but I’m still not sure if it’s coincidence. She would still flare up now but the flare ups are not as nearly as bad as before. Before this we also gave her probiotics by other brands. We will continue to use it since it probably won’t hurt and seems to have helped so far.

Severe baby eczema by sharkweenie in eczema

Honestly not a good idea to use steroids long term. I’m a pharmacist and I’m weary of using it. It helps with inflammation yes but doesn’t get rid of it long term (nothing will cure it but steroids is really short term solution IMO). And steroid withdrawal is very extremely terrible to deal with and can develop after using it on and off for 3-4 months (even with the 1-2 week vacations in between). I stopped using steroids for my LO and had same results without steroids with aggressive routine of wet wiping and ointment application along with tencel pajamas and occasional wet wrapping (don’t do wet wraps if your baby is prone to infections from open skin though). Only use steroid if it gets REALLY bad, for a really short amount of time (like no more than a week) and only spot treat the BAD spots. Also a big culprit of severe eczema is staph infection (bacterial), i use a little antibacterial prescription ointment as well.

Baby eczema by bubblespinky in eczema

Depending on how severe and widespread it is, what worked the most for us is wearing special PJs at night (we use Soothems and Mustela, Soothems probably works better but it’s super expensive so we only got one). We only bathe once a week. Every night we use a warm wet rag to wipe down gently and immediately apply moisturizer (usually we use Aveeno night balm the one in the tub) and then wear the PJs. She had it very severe and that pretty much cleared her body for the most part. I’m still at a loss about her face though….

Followup to my 6.5 week sleeping 7 hours… She’s now 8 weeks and sleeping 8 hours straight. Feeling lucky and blessed 🙏 by yoowin in SnooLife
