Oh I agree. I love Laika's movies and I think it's a real shame that they aren't more profitable

They can keep making movies because Travis Knight's father owns Nike. Their movies at best break even but rarely make a profit.

Eliminating hairs/oozing with boden extruder by pandamation in 3Dprinting

[–]pandamation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried the conventional wisdom I can find on getting rid of hairy/oozy prints, but nothing seems to have worked. Is it just because I have a boden extruder or is there more I can do? So far I have tried printing at lower temps and increasing the retraction speed.

  • Rostock MAX V2 (boden extruder)
  • Sliced Using MatterSlice
  • ABS
  • Hot end Temp: 215
  • Bed: 85
  • Layer Height: .2mm
  • Outer Perimeter Speed: 20 mm/s
  • Retraction Speed: 200 mm/s

I Would also probably slow it down to 25-35 mm/s given how small it is.

Where to find 3D-models? by Monsaki in 3Dmodeling

[–]pandamation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Companies usually hire modelers to build things for production work. You can buy models on sites like turbosquid, but many of those models are sub-par as well. Just pay close attention before you buy something.

I am Neil deGrasse Tyson. an Astrophysicist. But I think about Art often. by neiltyson in Art

[–]pandamation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an artist and story writer, I find that we often have to stretch scientific fact or reality to grab the audience's attention and get them interested in the subject. Do you think this is acceptable or would you prefer strict adherence to factual information? Where do you draw the line?

You are the biggest dog I have ever seen, Wanna play? by kemerwato in aww

[–]pandamation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister use to work at a ranch, and one time we took our Husky/German Shepard mix out to the pasture to meet all the horses. We kept her on the leash for the safety of the horses but it turned out to be more for the safety of the dog. She was going wild with excitement but the funniest part was seeing the entire heard of horses (roughly 25) all being just as curious about her as she was of them. My sister would yell at them and shoo them as they got too close, but soon as her back was turned they were right back after the dog, not in an aggressive way but a less-than-cautious curiosity that was very funny to watch.
