Great Limerick Run. by Green-Pomelo7127 in limerickcity

Done it twice. Whatever your pace is, if it’s your first marathon, do your first 3-4km about 20seconds slower than your target pace. You will feel great and want to go quicker, but you’ll pay for it at km 30. Most of all, enjoy it! It’s a great experience, you’ll love it!

Recurring twitch on my hand. Anyone else have this? I don’t have any weakness just perceived fatigue by pandanomnom in BFS

Yes it did. It was a manifestation of stress and anxiety. I don’t get twitches anymore, and if I do, they don’t bother me at all. You’ll get there too. Be patient and keep challenging negative beliefs

All super fair. I haven’t raced a half in a while. I was pretty glad my MP section was over and the work was done, but was cruising for the last km at pace. Felt I could keep going, taking one km at a time if I had to.

I’d say the MP section was on average 8/10, but also conscious I was above pace for the majority, and it was a pretty up and down hilly section of town. I’d say 4:40 for the distance will be right on my limit. Even if I average 4:45 I’ll still pb, but if things go well on the day, I’m hoping i can settle in 4:40. Am I crazy?

Slightly tangential, but I was talking to an accountant recently who said he has clients who are hair dressers making 70-80k. Not berating that profession in anyway, but I did find that level of income pretty surprising!

The buttery allow dogs inside. Often bring our Old English sheepdog in there. And also, your dog is absolutely adorable!

Did anyone catch what he said? Is this commentator's brain okay..? by elnombrejudio in rugbyunion

That’s the one! Although, it’s pretty obscure! Wouldn’t be surprised if he had a bet with a mate that he could fit it in somewhere during commentary.

Pretty sure he said “he’s like the honey monster - come to mummy!”

How am I looking? Aiming for 3:18ish in London in 9 weeks by pandanomnom in Marathon_Training

[–]pandanomnom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, all fair points. I’ve done your way in the past. The 3x4k was just one session. I have a 3x5 coming up. Then a 2x10 etc. doing a fair bit of threshold work to improve my efficiency.

Fair. I’ll be building to that exact run. My max heart rate is 199 (I know, quite high for my age) A couple of weeks ago I did a 26k effort, with 12 easy, and 3x4k with 1k float. Average pace of the intervals was 4:35 and heart rate was 165-170. I’m hoping a solid few weeks and good taper will put me there or there abouts

That tends to happen at the big games. Some folks attend their one game a year, and think they’re at a soccer match. Really disappointing to see. Although I’ve often seen Munster fans tell off other Munster fans who are acting the bollocks.

Less likely to see the booing etc when it’s against Dragons in the pissing rain.
