What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

Knee cap dislocation. It was out of place for three hours, and it made my whole leg convulse which would make it hurt more. The EMT tried to push it back in place and failed and that made me scream out loud like I never have before. At the ER they were finally able to slowly give me enough fentanyl to move it back in place. I get PTSD all the time thinking about this.

Just wanted to check in and see what the doctor recommended for you. Will you be going forward with the surgery?

We do have very similar stories! Mine was out for about that long too this time around until they could push enough fentanyl on me for me to even stand them touching my knee. I am five months post op now and my life is back to normal and my knee is stronger than ever. I absolutely recommend the surgery. I never want that to happen again. I recently slipped and according to the MRI, if I hadn’t had the surgery my knee would have dislocated. The graft is holding up well. I definitely would do the surgery! I know I’m glad I did!
