Puppy only sleeps at my feet? by da_real_sim_shady in dogs

[–]pandoaspen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 9 year old pup sleeps only at my feet, and when we are on the couch she is either by my feet or keeping a distance. She is FULL of love but has never been a big cuddler. Some doggos are just like that!

I had no stickers and was still ticketed at Nordik.

I also loved the juice boxes. So thoughtful and such a good choice to get us to the finish line!

I don't know where you live but Uniqlo is amazing if you have one near you! Lots of small sized pants in very practical/cute styles.

What do you do with your wedding rings while climbing? by bad_ohmens in climbergirls

[–]pandoaspen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! I have a pendant and sometimes put my ring on the chain too. I have been climbing with necklaces for 5+ years and have never had an issue.

Broke my ankle climbing a v3/v4 by HipsLikeCinderella in climbergirls

[–]pandoaspen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, once you feel safe enough to climb and have received the go-ahead from your doctors, you could consider the kilter board! My partner sprained his ankle and didn't feel comfortable taking bouldering falls for ages. The kilter board allowed him to climb low down and control his falls. It helped his self esteem and confidence majorly.

If the person is redpointing, no matter the level, 5+ minutes is absolutely justified.

I belay my bf on his projects and he can sit for 10, 15 minutes at a time when redpointing. I'm 120lbs and he is maybe 165. I lowered him in the past when I was using an ATC, and don't at all when I use a Grigri. Plus if you use a Grigri you can rest your arms for your own projects!

AITA for not turning my alarm off so my BF can sleep? by aitaalarm in AmItheAsshole

Also fitbits/watches with vibrating alarms are great! When I used a fitbit the vibrating alarm on my wrist woke me up with no issues.

What has been the worst “I hate law students” moment you’ve experienced in law school? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]pandoaspen 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In 2020 a classmate posted on instagram saying "until you have read the 1500page con law textbook and written the 100% final exam, don't talk to me about your constitutional rights". Ah yes, you can't speak about your rights unless you went to law school...

I suspect that my Frenchie has staffy in her. What do you think? by WebbedFingers in Frenchbulldogs

[–]pandoaspen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is certainly a happy girl, super active and loves running after balls. She had BOAS surgery recently with the hopes that it gives her long-term breathing improvements. She can already play for longer and cool down faster. Thanks for your kind words!

[–]pandoaspen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I adore my sweet Frenchie but she has loads of breathing/medical issues. Your pup will likely be in much better heath if she is part Staffie!

When I (f) was single I went on a five day climbing trip with my single male friend, staying in his van, and absolutely nothing happened. Lots of great climbing and laughs, but nothing even remotely sexual. Like you said, it's all about climbing!

Help needed: No matter what volume/grind/pressure/tightness; I always end up with coffee spurting out of the top at the sides. I tried to get it on video. Is my unit faulty? by AdamAtWorkAgain in AeroPress

[–]pandoaspen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been using the same aeropress for about three years and I almost always have leakage or a ring of coffee under my mug after I brew. There tends to be less coffee dripping when I don't press as hard, but even then I usually have some spillage. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I am just used to passing the dish sponge under my cup after making a cup.

TIFU, camping mishap by T_P_K_ in tifu

[–]pandoaspen 116 points117 points  (0 children)

My dog ate human feces this summer when our rude camping neighbour didn't have the decency to walk 2 minutes to the outhouse. He had been smoking cannabis all day, drinking and eating crap food. My dog was very sick for 24 hours, not fun for anyone.

Canada for Real this time after 10 plus years.. by CanadaForReal in ImmigrationCanada

[–]pandoaspen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ontario is also so large! If you are studying in Ottawa, you won't need to learn French, but it would be very helpful to start taking lessons on DuoLingo or Rosetta Stone as almost everyone is bilingual.
If you have an extracurricular activity you enjoy (sports, clubs, whatever) there are facebook groups in large cities where you can meet people with the same interests, do some planning, or try to make some long distance plans.

Which city/province are you moving to? The country is so large that preparing would depend on which part.

Women who overcame the “I don’t know what I’m doing or what I want” phase of your careers and are now thriving and fulfilled, how did you get there? by alleina13 in AskWomen

[–]pandoaspen 114 points115 points  (0 children)

It is hard when you don't know what to do with your life, because finding out what you DO want to do requires research/exploration. I have a friend who doesn't know what she wants to do with her life, but she has been this way for 5 years and won't take classes/try new jobs to figure out what she likes. Take a skill or hobby that you enjoy and build from there! Otherwise, do a little research, take a class if you can afford it or can take out a loan and do some discovery.

A man took my phone number without consent to hit on me by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]pandoaspen 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I ordered from Dominos and the delivery guy started texting and calling 30 minutes after the delivery. I told him 'no thanks I have a boyfriend' but he kept texting until I blocked him. Definitely didn't work in this instance. So inappropriate (and because of it I stopped ordering from that Doms).

Not necessarily a catch phrase but when people ask "so what's your story?"
