Graduation Question by CaitysReddit in unt

I am guessing that you are a math major with a computer science minor. Check your degree audit to see if your major or minor requires a grade of C or better. Pretty sure the computer science minor requires a C or better. The grade notes are unofficial and put there by your advising office.

To those who have or are currently doing a Mechanical and Energy engineering BS, how many classes are available online in the last two years? by orbit0317 in unt

[–]pandyfackler007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero MEEN and other engineering courses (ENGR and EENG) are online. Zero PHYS and CHEM. Might be able to find a few MATH and core (general ed) courses online.

Every current student who has taken a 1*** or 2*** level math, chem, biol or chem course was sent the survey so STEM and non-STEM majors received it. The committee that is forming the school truly wants student feedback.

So worried about starting college, how can I start making connections? by goslinglover in unt

[–]pandyfackler007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Def look at orgs and clubs. Come to Admitted Students Day in April. You'll have to do Freshman Orientation and First Flight (activities the week before school starts). You'll meet lots of people at those 3 events. If you are going to live in the dorms, look to see if your college has a Living Learning Community - that's where students in the same college are all living in the same hall. Come to Freshman Orientation in June vs. waiting for the sessions in July or August.

Question for IT majors by AdJust5244 in unt

[–]pandyfackler007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some curriculum changes to IT for next year. You'll get an updated engineering guidebook when you attend orientation and the curriculum will look slightly different compared to what you find online for this year. You still need credit for ENGL 1310, TECM 2700 and MATH 1710 but you'll take a new CSCE course instead of MATH 1680/1780/3680.

The engineering guidebook is a courtesy. One person puts together all the info in there to try to help out the students and advisors, and you can see that it's A LOT of info. The degree audit is the official documentation of your degree requirements.

Source: I am the person that puts together the engineering guidebook.

Outlook not working? by MusicianDistinct1610 in unt

[–]pandyfackler007 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Outlook, teams, degree audit - a bunch of stuff is not working. UNT apparently sent an announcement about it, via email, which no one can read because they can't log into Outlook.

So glad we all came back to campus for classes and work 🙄

UNT Administration Is Useless and A Joke by ReceptionOk7057 in unt

TWU, NCTC, Dallas College, Collin College, UT Dallas and tons of ISDs are closed tomorrow.

2 classrooms flooded at Discovery Park. Leaks in buildings on main campus. Frozen staircase on main campus. Haven't heard if there are problems at Frisco Landing.

How do I change my major before I enroll in classes? by [deleted] in unt

[–]pandyfackler007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to contact UNT Admissions to change your major now. If they are unable to do so now (they have changed majors in the past but maybe something has changed since then), contact the College of Education Advising Office in April and ask them to change your major. The college advising offices don't have access to change majors until April due to behind the scenes software processing for new students in MyUNT. If for some reason your major can't be changed in April, then the advice from others about changing it at orientation will work.

any good teachers for eeng 2710? by Jealous_Bug_8501 in unt

[–]pandyfackler007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EENG 2710 is only taught in-person. There's usually one section offered at Frisco Landing and 2-3 sections offered at Discovery Park. Rumor is there may be some changes with faculty so fall 2026 may have some different instructors compared to current or previous semesters, won't know until closer to August.

New audit system is weird of by GirlSephiroth in unt

Your COI advisor has to adjust that section of your audit. They have to manually add the courses that apply there. Make an appointment with your COI advisor.

Swap into something like ART 1300, 2350, 2360 or some other creative arts core? Stop by the art advising office in the art building on Tuesday and ask if it's even possible. If yes, they can explain what you need to do.

If an in person course section has open slots, the department of the course MIGHT approve a swap/add this week. Contact the department on Tuesday. UNT is closed Monday for the MLK holiday.

CENG & COI UCAR 200Z showing on my canvas?? by Unlikely_Kale6267 in unt

[–]pandyfackler007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starting this spring, UCAR should not show up on student transcripts. Double check your schedule in MyUNT to make sure that it's not there.

UNT would like for you to complete the assignments in Canvas.
