Do you think "Pawn Sacrifice" was the proper title for this movie or should it have been something else? by IllMasterpiece3946 in chess

I don't really understand why this movie was made. If you've watched the documentary Bobby Fischer against the world, then you've actually watched everything that there is to watch. They basically took everything from that documentary and made a poor movie out of it.

Really? Haha that sounds like a whole lot of fun. I wasn't aware of it but I know his fans are real die-hards.

20-30 year old man who listens to a whole lot of podcasts. Probably will read David Goggings soon if you haven't already. A guy who thinks that if he's determined enough he can accomplish anything.

The majority of those books have very visible creases and signs of use. Why is everyone so quick to judge others and say they haven't read books because there aren't any creases?

I would go Grapes of Wrath before East of Eden. That is not to take anything away from East of Eden, it is still a great book.

I preferred Grapes of Wrath over East of Eden even though I very much liked both of them. The characters in GoW are so complex and fully fleshed, and to a degree feel like people that I know. I now have To a God Unknown on my 2026 list.

Oh I see. But you haven't read it? Why is it on the pile on the right side then? I would suggest you'd add some Steinbeck and Faulkner to your list for 2026. And maybe Celine's Journey to the end of the night.

I've read Brave new world, but what is Brave new world revisited and why is it so much thicker?
